But that night, he apparently got with Stephany, the daughter of the former president of the Peruvian Automobile Club. They went to a hotel, where she was never seen alive again. He recently confessed to having briefly left the room for 'coffee' to return to Stephany searching through his personal laptop, allegedly full of incriminating evidence regarding Natalee Holloway's death/disappearance. He hit her and she tried to leave, so he grabbed her neck and beat her over the head with a tennis racket til her neck was broken and her brain hemorhaged. He fled the hotel room with the t.v. blaring. He claims he was under the influence of marijuana but still tries to justify himself saying,
"I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life... she didn't have any right. I went to her and I hit her. She was scared, we argued and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."

And the only reason he confessed was to get the charge reduced to manslaughter, which is punishable by 6 - 20 years---luckily for him, Peru doesn't have a death penalty or life sentence for murder--curiously, they do have a life sentence for aggravated robbery. Hmmph.
Looks like he may be out and playing poker again when he's in his 40's. And he'll probably never pay for Holloway. I wonder how Stephany's father (and his cronies) feel about that prick getting away...maybe they will be at his next poker game.
