If Jesus Came to My House

This is one of the books we checked out...I love the intro (it's from the 50's): It is easy to see why this unpretentious little book, originally published in England, has already sold 19 editions. Children have always liked stories with morals, and parents have always liked books with warmth and tenderness for their children. Perhaps it is this tenderness that is felt between the lines of simple little verses put together with the innocent artlessness of the illustrations that gives the book it's rare and instant appeal. Both text and pictures are identical with the British edition, except for slight revisions that were made to adapt the book for American readers.

Susan and I took the babies to the library for storytime this morning, but we found out baby story time is on a 2 week hiatus for preparations of summer reading programs. We had fun anyway, playing with the train table, blocks, and checking out some books. I haven't been reading to Olivia like I used to with Lucas. Hopefully she is just as receptive to them as he was. Now, he won't have the attention span for them or patience not to grab the book and whine. But I'll try anyway.

Then we went outside to play by the fountain. It was already pretty hot outside so we didn't stay too long. I know Lucas wanted to jump in the water--we're gonna take him swimming today.

We are home now, having lunch and taking naps. (time for me to clean the bathrooms) And then we are going swimming at grandma's. I bought Lucas a new tube and arm floatees---dollar store--AND they are toy story!
