Texas Rangers Stadium

I heard this story earlier this morning and couldn't get it off my mind. It's just so sad and sounds so horrible to witness. Shannon Stone a fireman of 18 years was at a baseball game here in Texas with his 7 yr old son. He tried to catch a flyball and leaned a little too far over the railing and fell 20 feet to concrete below, directly on his head. He bled a lot but apparently at that time was still conscious when paramedics arrived...he was yelling for them to get his son who was alone still at their seat. I can't even imagine the pain he must have been in and having to be so worried about your son and trying to communicate about his son during it all..He ended up dying in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. It's so heartbreaking to think that his little son witness his fall thinking he would be okay and then he was gone forever. How terrifying. And the player who purposefully hit the ball in the crowd feel immense guilt...So sad. I am not blaming anybody but I do think they should put some kind of netting around the edge of the stands. It's been bothering me all day...I just read that the player who threw the foul ball up to him heard the little boy screaming for his daddy as he fell. So heartbreaking. I wish I could hug that little boy!

I have to stop reading the news. I really do. It affects me so much. I read this one too and I just...His dad took him to a baseball game :( He was probably trying to catch it for his son. His son will forever remember this and probably blame himself for it. I hope that family will be ok. :(
