L & O's First Summer Reading Log

I took the babies to their new favorite place today. We had a few books checked out last month and they loved hearing me read them, although I had to read them with an annoying tone and different pitches to keep their interest lol. So we went through the drive through return slot and Lucas cried his eyes out when he saw daddy giving back his beloved elephant books lol. So he was very happy to be back. They also have a very nice play area with a puppet stage etc so they both really enjoyed their playtime. I picked out some books and a few videos for "Potty time" and registered them for baby summer reading. Since we've already read 10 books, they got to pick out a free book each! They were very happy. They also got their names on shell cutouts for this wall:

I only had my phone for those pictures. These were later when they wanted to read their new books:

Lucas was really happy he got the "onion" book---what he calls a lion :) And on the TV--a bear potty movie. Lucas' eyes lit up when he saw videos about potty time lol. He's doing pretty well about peepee but doesn't always tell us he needs to go--we ask him all day long and usually get him at the right time. I am kinda scared about poop in the potty though...with him and Olivia running around, it's going to be a huge mess to clean up and also clean them and keep their hands out of it...
I am not sure what they get after 20 books, but I am so glad they like books. Lucas loved books as a baby and it was part of the night routine for him, but once Olivia came along, he was too rowdy to want to listen, and Olivia never sat still or stopped crying long enough for even one page. So now that they are comprehending so much, they both get a lot out of the stories and pictures. It's nice to see them learning together :)
