Fun Max Jump In!

We decided to go back to the jump in place since it's indoors and the babies were a little older and better coordinated. Last time (about 3 months ago) they were scared of the loud noises...but this time they LOVED it right away!

This picture makes me laugh now...when I first saw it, I said,

"Hmm. I don't look as fat in this pic..maybe I should pose from the side more often."

John's response:
"Maybe you should pose next to dinosaurs more often."

HAHAHA! That made me laugh so hard. I had give Johnny some credit for a good jab.

Lucas really tired himself out good on this thing..over and over all by himself!

"Hey! I can stand up when Daddy's not jumping around!"
She didn't quite make it up on her own, but she tried hard :)

Good indoor fun for $8--John and I were free, and Olivia too!

Taking the Dogs Out to the Park

My babies walking my pseudo-babies. :) It's good for all of them.

Lucas took over his typical job of being water boy.

The dogs fetching balls.
Don't you love these boots on her?!

And my little cowgirl looking cute as can be.

Lucas Loves Karaoke

GMA + GPA Hodge left us this karaoke machine they had, and a few CDs of standard karaoke songs. I didn't think Lucas would like it this much!
Tina came over to help us out:

Galveston-Moody Gardens

Later that day we drove down to Galveston. Last time we came down it wasn't quite summer and I recall I said it looked like an abandoned rundown beach. Well, certain areas still did undoubtedly because of the numerous Hurricanes it's been hit with over the years, but this time it was definitely in season and was hot, sunny, bright and pretty busy.

It was very hot and humid, so we went to Moody Gardens again, this time to the newly renovated Rainforest exhibit. There are many things to do in Moody Gardens, from aquariums, water parks, resorts, beaches, rainforests, science exhibits, dinosaur exhibits, and IMAX theaters with 3d and 4d/ride theaters. We went to the aquarium when we first came to TX, and it was okay..this time we went to the Rainforest exhibit and this was a lot cooler and better suited for L + O. When I say cooler, I mean funner...Unfortunately, some parts of the rainforest were hot sweaty and humid obviously to emulate the natural environments of the animals in this huge pyramid. But they installed litte plastic tubes with holes every few feet to blast cool air which was nice.
Enjoy the pics!

It was really pretty around this area--and so much more colorful since it wasn't overcast this time.

You stood on the designated area and you would start hearing different animals. Lucas liked this.
These otter seemed so happy and playful. Looks pretty fun!

It truly felt like a greenhouse inside the pyramid but there were lots of cool caves and once you made your way to the bottom, it was a lot cooler.

Lucas was excited to see the butterfly exhibit, but it was so warm we didn't stay long.

While pausing in front of a little cool-air-tube-vent, we saw this monkey.
Then we went indoors to see the nocturnal animals.

Further down the pyramid, we saw this adorable ocelot.
Olivia loved leading the tour, but didn't want to hold hands with anyone!
These beautiful birds were my favorite. I remember having a really vivid dream about millions of them flying around me in a jungle years ago lol. And Lucas + Olivia remembered them from their book.
 Checking out the snake.
Looking at the wierd fish and turtles.
This turtle looked spiny and sharp! Lucas said "ow! boo boo!"

 Lucas climbing a tree.
These birds didn't stop making out the whole time we were there.

Behind them is a HUGE anaconda...see the tail?
 Here's that monkey again!
When I took this picture of the yellow and black snake, I didn't even notice the pretty green one in front of it!
Scary---Gavoon Viper...biggest fangs.
Ready to go home now :)

USS Texas

The next day, we were going to La Porte, to tour the USS Texas. The humidity and heat were already horrid in the morning when I took the dogs out. And I remembered how difficult it was to tour the Seawolf down in Galveston earlier this year, when it was hot, but not sweltering like it is now. And the babies have so little patience anymore, so I decided the babies and I wouldn't go--John and his parents went and had a good time, while I took the babies to pick up some snacks and stuff for the trip down to Galveston later that day, and get gas. When they got back around noon, they agreed that was the right decision! All the climbing and squeezing through little pathways on a ship, in this heat is the last thing I would want to take the babies to!

They got some pretty pictures though:

Sorry I don't have any info on anything since I didn't go, but aren't these rooms kinda eerie? Like a real ghost ship!

Cool looking huh?
