Practicing

I am contemplating trying to earn some extra money on the weekends by hosting an open mic/live music at local bars and restaurants, but before I even approach any, I need to practice again and re-learn old songs, and learn new ones. I haven't practiced enough for the past few years--i don't want to lose any ability i might have! So these are some new ones. I am trying some different styles than what I am used to--I am worried about boring the audience. I've learned that there's a difference between a great song on a cd with a band etc, and one person, one guitar singing. The song has to have a certain quality that withstands the challenge of being great live, without a band.
Let me know what you think of the new songs I learned--they are pretty rough recordings, but I had to use what time I had when the babes were sleeping (well one was sorta sleeping...):

Can't get up ( I was listening,but I was also working)

Tymps-I stopped listening. I was more preoccupied with what I was doing.

What you won't do for love-I stopped what I was doing to listen. (It was my top fave from the all of the songs-perhaps because it was the one I most recognized)

Breathless-I was listening. I have not heard this song before and now want to find it online and listen to it.

Everlong-I was curious to hear you play this one-I recognized the intro.

Suggestion/request ;) can you sing a Dido song?
Or No Such Thing by John Mayer :)
I hope you don't hate those artists. I know their songs were popular, but I love the melody in their songs and their whispered songs :)

I think the beegees one is going to capture your older audience :) I like the beegees! So, I was really captured by this song.
