I get out there and Tyrone is stuck somehow on the side of the shed I can't see under. Denise and I start digging up the other side, and we start hearing Tyrone barking, and something growling. I said 'hmm, rabbits don't growl.' We continued digging and out pops this big fat rat-looking tail!!!!
I called the animal control and they eventually sent someone out 20 minutes later. The whole time Tyrone is yelping/barking, and this fat possum was hissing and moving it's nasty butt and tail. The animal control guy came, all casual and non-chalantly yanked that sucker out by the tail!

Tyrone eventually broke some wood to get out and I took him to the clinic to get checked, washed and a rabies booster. Thankfully he is up to date on his shots, but the booster was an extra pre-caution (and cost...).They are now trying to figure out where they can take the possum to be euthanized and checked for rabies. Tyrone is fine.
Another thing to pay for instead of paying off more credit cards. We are shipping these dogs out in June to John's parents house so we can prep this house for rental. I will be living with them in November and then we will take them with us when we find a home in Idaho. I am so glad that John's parents are doing us this huge favor and the dogs will be happy there and well fed :)
I do feel bad that they are going to kill it, but POSSUMS ARE DISGUSTING!
