Snake Farts pt. deux

I haven't really bought anything for them for Easter--I guess we've just been too busy to really get them all into the easter bunny leaving gifts etc. But I have taken them out to play a lot and they really enjoy it. I gotta stop calling them babies because they are really kids, wanting mommy to leave them alone to play :)

We went to the nearby subdivision's park (every neighborhood here has it's own school, pool, park etc...all within walking distance of the other...wierd!) and they had an Easter festival, put together by one of the local churches. It was perfect weather, and everyone was so nice. John had to sleep, but the kids behaved well and we had fun. Lucas really misses daddy though...everytime I tell him I love him he says "I love daddy first." lol. He and daddy have been enjoying watching youtube videos of snakes eating mice...sick huh? They both love it though. Boys...
Instead of getting their faces painted, I had them get a little tattoo on their arms so they could actually see it and it wouldnt be as messy. Lucas of course got a snake--he was  so excited. He's a tough guy! Couldn't wait to show daddy :)

Olivia wanted a lady bug---her loofah at bathtime is a ladybug. She's so proud of hers too. She told me "dont touch it...(whispers) its my ladybug".

Then we went to the craft table and made these cross necklaces. I wasn't exactly sure if Lucas knew, but I asked him, "what does this (cross) remind you of?" and he said "Jesus!" I think he gets it :) I'd rather have him know what Easter is really about, than just bunnies and eggs.
Then we did this "cake walk" where they walked on the numbers until the music ended and if their number got called, they got a game ticket. Olivia even dance-walked to the music lol. Then with the tickets they could 'buy' cookies at the prize table :)

The spoon race wasn't so successful, but it was fun to watch. Olivia sorta got the concept, but Lucas just wanted to play baseball or tennis with it...I just realized his sports class at the gym just taught them tennis and he was obviously trying to swing like that lol. At least the eggs were hardboiled.

Then the dart toss. This was more Lucas' speed. He made one in the hoop! Got 2 tickets for that :)

Free cotton candy---their first time! They loved it. Until they accidentally got theirs stuck together lol. And then Olivia hated having the sticky mess on her hands afterward.

And I didn't bring their buckets for the easter egg hunt but they had bags for us. We were behind a huge crowd, so we didn't get any whole eggs, just trampled shells, but they liked it anyway.
I went and bought them these hats today to try to keep them a little cooler and out of the sun. They actually liked them and kept them on :) We didnt go to the easter vigil tonight because daddy is going to go with us early in the morning when he gets off work. A few more nights til he has some time off--Lucas misses him so much! I'm tired of hearing "i love daddy first...daddy sleeping? daddy at work? daddy snake videos!" lol.

Your babies are so adorable. I also believe in teaching my daughter the true meaning of all holidays. It's a great thing to do. :)

iris--thanks :) I love using this new picasa editing program. So awesome you can make any picture look good enough to frame lol. I can get carried away with effects though..:)

thanks monica. I really haven't been devoting enough time to teaching them about Jesus or even reading to them like I used to. We've actually been really busy. Thats why I was so pleasantly surprised by his memory and compassion. He's a sensitive boy for sure :)
