Kites
Today we flew kites--it was finally perfect weather for it. They had new kites for a while and it was always rainy or not windy enough, but today was actually pretty windy. Their kites stayed up the whole time and Lucas held onto his all the while. Olivia would get a little scared when the wind blew strong...maybe she thought she'd blow away! I let go of it and had to run after it and untie the huge knot, and the 2 kites got entangled twice, but it was so fun to see the babies enjoy holding their flying kites, as the planes flew by to land at George Bush International. We stayed out longer than I thought, and Olivia's shoulders got a little sunburned. I forget that I need to protect these pale babies' skin!

Oh HOW FUN! I want to fly a kite now! I mean I want to take my SON to fly a kite :)
Such beautiful pictures!
Where did you guys buy your kites from?
When I was a kid, I had a kite with a long tail. I mean it was like 20 feet long. I LOVED that kite. Then, some kids, for some cruel reason, caught up to it when it fell because there wasn't enough wind and they ripped it to shreds. Mean huh? I always wanted another one like that. We might have to look for it soon :)
Thank you for this post, it brought good and bad memories. But I am excited to try this soon with my lil guy.
I really like Olivia's cute little pink dress and her cute little bangs. Gorgeous family :)
So much fun. I used to fly kites with my daughter when she was little. Maybe I will try it again this Sunday if it's windy enough.
Your babies are adorable and the pics are amazing and so vibrant. :)
funny how something as simple as a kite can be so enjoyable, and bring forth all these nostalgic feelings...it did it for me too! I get sucked into vague memories of my childhood and how you can be totally selfish and unaware...and just happy while you're a kid. Then to realize I am creating those moments for L & O, is bittersweet :)
sorry your memory wasn't so happy iris. Kids can be cruel for no reason...i remember crushing this snail i found in the front yard when i was little and then feeling really guilty afterward...not knowing why i did it. lol. Those little moments stick with you--I wonder if your kite bullies remember that incident too?
Yes! everyone get kites--you're kids will love it and so will you!
