The Smithsonian

Since we only had one day, and two babies, we decided to only take on one event. It was kinda hard to pick because there is so much to see, all free. But we figured we could go to the zoo anywhere...the artifacts in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History can ONLY be seen there. So we spent the day there---and I don't even know if we saw it all! The place is huge. We just kept walking and seeing new things, not really following any plan.

Here is some fossil wood from 23 million years ago, and then some real old wood from Arizona, about 220 million years old!

Some pretty butterflies and nasty huge beetles..

I am not a good photographer and don't understand what settings to ever use...I tried flash, it made the elephant behind them dark...without flash is blurry! ugh...Any recommendations?

Olivia got so excited when we went into a dim room--it was so cute, but I couldn't get any good pictures of her excited face so here's a tiny bit in a video--she did this for a while!

The dinosaurs were really cool to see..so wierd to think about them especially being where they found some of them--in Kansas! lol. I honestly thought they would be a lot bigger though. Those T-Rex heads are so cool looking.

Scary teeth huh?
