The Smithsonian continued...

A globe-projected TV--Lucas was amazed by this.

Finally something still alive! John kept scaring him with the fish--and Lucas laughed so hard!

Mommy and Lucas with the Heron--we see these all the time :)

Lucas stood in front of this stuffed penguin forever, laughing as if he was having a staring contest lol. He thought the penguin was going to move eventually lol.

A big ugly fish...and Lucas.

The whale--we tried to tell Lucas this was the Jonah whale.

A giant squid---so cool!

Some starfish Olivia wanted to grab.

A huge shark jaw.

I got pretty good at setting the timer on the camera to get family pics lol.

I love this picture--some new beautiful species of homo somethign or other..

This counter went up every second or so.

I just felt like drawing- leave me alone!

And then there's this progression of what they think we evolved from...apes. What we're all taught is fact, but was never really proven.

This girl's face haunts me...

wierd..all these homos died making this face.

And i tried this machine thing--it took a picture of me and showed me what I would look like if I were still half-monkey er whatever:

HOT!

This was a 2 yr old's skeleton. They grew at the same rate as kids do now.

Hanging out by the fire.

I thought was looking in the mirror...seriously- I think I found another long-lost sister.

I never even saw the nice boob right there--hot.

Ethiopian Lucy. walking upright, yeah.

Olivia's big foot.

Lucas wouldn't let us take away his snack cup while he napped at the musuem.

Hey, I ran out of poses.

These were soooo coool to see. A real mummy. Amazing how well preserved these are. It's still so mind-blowing to see things like this from B.C....and odd how even in the "intelligent" artsy-fartsy crowd, these artifacts are still dated according to Christ's time. How is that still allowed any significance?

Cool huge mosaic. Can't make out what it is. Like a magic eye poster. jk.

Dude..is that a dog bone?

what Ann Calvert would look like today...

What Ann Calvert actually looks like today...

She, her husband, and their son's caskets.

What happens when you smoke...you die.

A cemetary found in Jamestown (close to where we now live) that explains the desperation and poverty then.

The first skeleton found to have died from other than natural causes...meaning an Indian's arrow to the freakin head! What did he ever do to them?

Bone abnormalities, and my love.

Skulls riddled with bullets...they probably found these down in Norfolk.

Fixed and semi-fixed bone injuries.

Guess which skull is african, native american, or european?

An infant and a 22 week old fetus' skeleton. Not sure how they died...

Yeah.
I'm tired of captioning...just enjoy!

why does this remind me of Beetlejuice?

Baleen whale.

John and some primates. De-evolution.

lucas woke up and saw some butterflies!

A view from upstairs.

Lucas measures up to an elephant leg.

Hope diamond. Cool story behind it. Wikipedia will tell ya.

cool giraffe and shy lucas.

John posed me with the snake. He likes snakes.

Lucas of course, enjoyed the insects.

This is a cool way to get bees to make you honey.

This was a huge ant farm:

Yum.

at least it's accurate.

And thats finally, all of the smithsonian we saw.Definitely an all-day event. It was a great quick trip. Hope we can go again and see the rest of DC.
