A Little Bit Closer..

I feel like we have been doing a lot lately, and yet we are still behind! We are technically supposed to be showing our house to renters now, but it's not quite finished. The downstairs sink isn't finished, we still have one more room to paint, and lots of cleaning.
Here's Lucas helping mommy clean the floor. He was amazed to watch me vaccuum the ceiling...I had ignored the dust collecting on the ceiling above the fan in the living room. Looks much better now.

I was cleaning the floor and noticed a little knick in the wood flooring, so I was upset about that...but then I went to wash the baseboards, and saw a little hole...pressed in and this is what resulted:

We obviously had termite damage..but we have had terminix since around march of this year, so this must have been old damage (therefore not covered in our warranty..)
Our neighbor generously let us borrow her husband's amazing tools--he has EVERYTHING! (he's on a deployment) and John was my hero. He bought the baseboards, and used their table saw to cut the pieces at 45 degree angles to blend them in, and borrowed their cool staple gun and check it out!:

I then used some sealant to finish it up. We so want to get all those tools and do more projects on our future house now :)

I windexed and squeegeed the windows and front door and saw this wierd probably poisonous spider:

"Hey guys, my period's real heavy--is it showing on my thorax?"

John helped me clean out the fridge and I couldn't believe how quickly and easily it was finished with his help!

Looks new again! I can't wait to relax and know that we have renters.

When will you have renters?

As soon as we give our property manager the go-ahead, he will show the property, and we intend to have them move in by mid november, when we move to CA. --although john will be flying back here to live his last months on the ship :(

Wow! You deal with so much and you are so young. Good job though :) I think it's wonderful that you are so strong. You are a good wifey and mom :)

wow thanks--and so are you! It's a weird transition, but I hope it will pay off in the end. I never thought the day would come that he'd be out of the navy---we are so close now, but it doesn't seem like it will happen for some crazy reason. He's been in ~8 years, and we've been married a little over 6, so we don't know married civilian life lol.

but guess what? I am proud to say I am finally DONE with all the painting lol Finished the last room 2 days ago. So tired of it :) thats a big check off my list. BUT to tell you the truth I have been SOO ignoring my diet/body/health. I figure I throw all my energy and effort into the house, and then when we move I can focus on my body again....therefore, I gained quite a bit of weight back..very depressing. But i'll get it off again right!? :)
