Leaving California

All in all, it took us 6 days to drive back home, but we made some interesting stops. I didn't want to torture Lucas with too much driving--even though he slept most of the drive. We stayed in Holiday Inn Express the whole way, and most of them were nice.
This was the morning we left--we told them to drive back out to VA in January to see the next birth! They did with Lucas this year but I am sure they took half the time to drive lol.






Packing the car was a job to do--but we did it. I simplified it this time by packing only the things we needed (duh) for the hotel in a few bags so we didn't need everything brought in every night, and Lucas slept either with us or on a separate bed with pillows blocking him from rolling too much so we didn't bring in his crib.

Our first stop was in Williams Arizona, about an hour south of the Grand Canyon.









Then John blew up this little boat I bought and took Lucas swimming--he loves water and this pool was heated!
