This is a single medela electric breastpump, which I already tried out* lol. It was weird to feel at first, but I think the pump will make it very easy to store and freeze in these storage bottles we have:

We also purchased this:

We will be using this mostly in the cradle by our bed, but it seems pretty convenient to use on any surface, even our bed. It will gently hold him in place when we rock him in the cradle. I hope Lucas likes the feeling of being held in position by it. But it was on clearance too.
We also picked this diaper genie elite up, along with some diaper bag refills:

I don't know how good or bad these things are, but I know I will be changing many diapers upstairs, so I will give it a try before opting to take each diaper down and out in the trash every time.
And we bought some Huggies diapers/wipers since we had coupons for $2 off, and we picked up a boppy pillow cover. John also installed the car seat base in the back of our cobalt, so we are ready to bring him home. I have lots of warm outfits/blankets to wrap him up in since it's been pretty cold here. I can't wait to see him already---I pray that I am ready in 2 days for my appointment!! Especially since John's parents will be here and he will be gone working non-stop unless I go into labor--in which case he could take his 10 days paternity leave, and not go to this commissioning ceremony on saturday.
The timing has to work!

Sounds like you guys are all set. Hurry Lucas we are all waiting to see you!
All of this last minute stuff is so much fun :)
With all of this going on and the anxiety, have you had any dreams lately?
well i guess i should be remembering more now since I have been peeing a lot more frequently---guess thats because lucas is descending and pressing more on my bladder. I can't think of any really weird recent ones, but i am getting so anxious i know i will probably have a dream that i had lucas, and then wake up disappointed lol.
Are you exhausted now though? I have been unable to keep from taking 3 hour naps everyday especially when johns home. He has 24 hour duty today, and probably training tomorrow, so he will probably not be home til tomorrow night. I can't wait to see if i have progressed at my appt tomorrow morning.
Of course my feet and back hurt all the time, but i couldn't believe how swollen my feet are! i never had fat feet til now. In fact mine were always long skinny and narrow, and they look all puffy now. I had some bad headaches earlier this week so I was kinda concerned that i might have high blood pressure. We'll see tomorrow i guess!
Are your in-laws staying at your house? If so, they should be a great help to you guys, especially if they cook :)
But, in my opinion, having my in-laws around would stress me out a bit. It doesn't sound like that's how you feel. I hope you'll be surrounded by support and comfort in these challenging days ahead (labor, hospitalization, getting used to being home with your new baby without the help of nurses).
I have had a box of baby stuff to send you and I forgot about it. I will send it after I take some stuff out of it that would be redundant to you now :) I can't believe how close you are!!!
Oh yeah, the puffy feet are embarrassing....in summer! You're lucky it's so cold wear you are in that instance! The amazing thing is how fast they go back to normal after you pop that baby out. You'll see almost immediate shrinkage in your thighs, feet, arms, everything.
Wow! 3 hour naps! Nice :D Everyone keeps telling me I should nap as much as possible now, because....
So sounds like you are doing the right thing :)
I AM very tired now. The daily exercise/walks are a major chore for me. I come back home from my medium-paced 30 minute walks, out of breath and ready to almost throw up LOL! That's how I used to feel when I would come back from running/jogging 2+ miles!
So funny.
You know what? I didn't get the puffy feet. I did get swollen fingers and some parts of my face, like my nose, (in my opinion) jaw area and upper eyelids. You can see the puffiness in my hairdo videos ahahaha!
Sarah is right, we're lucky we were preggo in the winter. I know I am always hot and even when it's raining, I'd rather wear flip flops and a Tshirt!
I don't have a Dr's appt until next week :(
Yay! Samantha, you're almost at the finish line! :) Never thought these days would be here so quick. You did great! Can't wait to read more blogs :)
Sarah- yeah I am a bit worried about the in-laws visit, since susan will be staying at mom's house for the duration of their visit (john gave them her room without even asking..) I am worried that if I don't go into labor soon, john will be working all the time and I won't know what to do to keep his parents happy and entertained. i hope it all goes smoothly, but I am mostly focused on having lucas and making sure john is there for it and as long as possible afterwards, since they do have a few week long deployments this and next month.
Thanks for anything you wanna send! I hope you are right about the shrinkage- i am ready for that. I am ready to not be huge and bigger than my husband and helpless and sore etc. - ready to sleep on my belly. Or sleep without the numerous pee breaks.
Iris- thanks- you are right behind me and I'm sure you're a lot healthier since you've been exercising. Apparently walking through walmart makes my BP high, so I am pretty out of shape. I hope both our births go smoothly and that we safely deliver healthy baby boys.don't worry you'll start seeing the dr weekly soon. Wish me luck for tomorrow AM!
Sounds like you are all set!
You will have to let me know what you think of the diaper Genie because I have not bought one yet. I was thinking about getting one but have not made up my mind yet. They are soooo expensive so I might just get a trashcan and empty it a couple times a day :)
