Well I woke up at 3am this morning with diarrhea and cramping. By 3:30am I was contracting relatively regularly (with 5 to 15 minute intervals) and John and I monitored and recorded each one over the next few hours, but I knew it was false labor when the length of time between them started to get longer. I went back to sleep at 7am, and got up at 8am. I called the hospital to see when to come in for my third non-stress test to monitor my blood pressure, and I also told them about my contractions, but they predictably didn't think anything of it, since they weren't regular--they told me to come in at 2pm.
A few hours later I took a bath and was about to get ready to go, when I wiped and saw there was part of my mucous plug tinged with bright red blood. So I got a little excited, but the contractions were still sporatic and not too strong. John took me into the hospital and I was monitored for an hour- my blood pressure was very good, and the contractions were being recorded too. I somewhat jokingly asked the nurse if they expect a lot of births since tonight is a full moon--she said it's very true and they have been getting a lot of pending deliveries; they even schedule extra nurses on those nights!
They checked my still 'posterior cervix' which was very painful since it was so far back and sensitive. She said it still has yet to turn forward but I was about 1-2 cm dialated and they sent me home. John was hoping I would be in active labor since today was his only day off and now he has to go into work early for physical training at 5 am. My next appt is on tuesday, at 3:15pm, and the nurses said Dr. Shwayder will probably schedule me for induction this week. I am only 6 days out, but we'll see. I have been having off and on stronger contractions, so I will still not give up hope for tonight. But once my water breaks, that will be the definitive factor that I will be having him within the next 24 hours, whether it be c-section or not (since the risk for infection greatly increases with the loss of the amniotic fluid).
SOOOO there is my update. In a little pain, had bloody mucous and waiting for my next appt on tuesday. Full moon tonight though- so Jen you still have a chance!!*

Well good luck! You never know, your body can change really quickly! Just hold off until Tuesday..that is the day I guessed! :)
First off I feel stupid for asking your due date when it's right there in front of me on you blog. (From the last comment I made.)
It sounds like your getting there. You are having all the signs that he is on his way soon. Sounds to me like I'll be wrong on my prediction of him coming late. But I still have a chance at predicting right if your induced:)
With both my kids my water never broke until I was in active labor and I never lost my plug until then as well.
WOOHOOO!!! And that is so interesting about the full moon births. Glad you asked, just for entertainment factor.
You're doing it! You're in labor! I know it's not the fully active part of labor yet but you're in it and there is no turning back! I love tmi blogs :)
How will we know when you go to the hospital to give birth? Will you let us know in a blog before you leave the house?
You will have to post something everyday just so we know that it has not happened yet! :)
