Well, I had my appointment today and it turns out my blood pressure IS high. I saw the midwife today and she took my BP twice and it last was 135/95 so I may be pre-eclamptic. They did another pelvic exam and Lucas has NOT EVEN DESCENDED yet, and there is no dialation. I apparently gained 6 lbs in a week from all the water retention from the high blood pressure. She gave me referral for a bunch of bloodwork and 24 hour urine collection test to look for protein which will be the definitive factor diagnosing pre-eclampsia. And then I have to go back in on friday to check my blood pressure and possibly do more tests depending on the BP.
So, I am a bit disappointed because Lucas is has still not descended, and the possibility of induction hinges on the diagnosis of pre-eclampsia which is dangerous to the baby. My doctor even got mad at me for going to walmart...strict bedrest...ugh considering that other people work jobs and go to the gym, I practically don't do anything already. John's parents will be here in 2 days, and he will be working so much and I can't do anything or go anywhere. John is pissed off---he's so wrapped up in his own misery at work that all he sees in this is that he has to go to this long commissioning ceremony on Saturday. It may work out better though because if I have Lucas later, it may cut into his deployment later this month, but that is, IF they let him even take his leave during the deployment.
Anyway, just wanted to give a quick update- turns out walmart BP machines aren't inaccurate. I know we have to be grateful that Lucas is still healthy and safe, and stop just thinking about how inconvenient it will be. I will hope and pray for things to work out best for all of us.

Samantha,
It sounds like you have the right attitude. You are almost there, so just sit tight just like you plan to do and just like the Dr. said.
Before you know it, little Lucas will be running around and then you will wish someone would prescribe bed rest for you then :)
Did you Dr say if you are allowed to do stationary exercises?
i can guarantee he would laugh at me if I asked. "Strict bedrest" means stay on the bed or on the couch, only to get up to use the bathroom. Obviously I am not totally listening because there are things I want and have to do. ugh i only have a week a half til my due date...but come on!
I am praying for you and Lucas. Take it easy and rest.
And I keep hearing, if this is your first, you will be overdue :'( Wahhh!
yup--hey, I am actually alright with waiting longer, as long as john gets to stay if it cuts in to their deployment, which from what we know, seems likely. his parents are arriving today, so they will help out while johns working. but we're all anxious to see lucas already!
but! i have been feeling some cramping today so maybe he's finally makin his way down!
