Well this urine collection thing isn't fun. First of all, they are pretty strict about getting each and every pee for the full 24 hours. And it must be refrigerated.
Considering that I am upstairs, I have had to get a cooler with ice to have in the bathroom. Then they give me this tiny cup to pee into to then transport to the jug, as if 1.) I can aim for that tiny cup at this size (can't see it) and 2.) as if I wouldn't have to stop mid-pee at least once with how small it is. So I am using an old tupperware, which I have to crouch and balance over while trying to get every drop in...And then put it all into this big orange jug in the fridge to turn in tomorrow at the hospital and get more blood work. I know it's gross and a lot of detail but considering how they got mad that I bought groceries, I am doing a lot more stressful things up and down stairs because of this. There are so many unknown and uncontrollable things converging right now and it's really inconveniencing everyone...I don't know how fun it will be for John's parents to be here while I am on 'strict bedrest' and John is working. Plus, for the time they are here, Susan is graciously staying at mom's house. OKay...I guess that's all- just a quick whine again. We'll see what happens on Friday.

Why are you having to do this? Is it the pre clampsa test?
Sounds like no fun!!!
yeah the urine will have protein in it if i have preeclampsia. And if my bp is too high, it can be dangerous to lucas because won't be getting enough oxygen through the blood. my mom had to be induced with her last baby because her bp was too high. (higher than mine). but we'll see by the end of this week what needs to be done. thanks for your concern! (and no they said they dont do u/s's to check the weight unless there is something wrong or if i am having a big baby...guess you're lucky!)
How have you been doing with remembering to do this?
well i finished it today- it was alright with john's help (he had to take my cooler downstairs early this AM to put in the jug in the fridge cuz it was full already.) I turned it in to the hospital already and got some more bloodwork.
so we'll see the results at my appt on friday--it was wierd to take a whole jug of pee in though!
I can imagine. I would have put a huge label on it that said "Lemonade"
lol it was right next to the orange juice. glad to be done with that for now!
