I have had the worst swollen feet recently and occasional headaches, which I thought may be due to high blood pressure, so while at walmart today I checked it. It was 155/95...really bad.I even had Norman check his to see if the machine might be off, and his was like 112/51! Throughout this pregnancy my BP has consistently been about 120 or 130/80 so I was never in danger of pre-eclampsia, which my mom has had during one of her pregnancies, and had to be induced.
So, I called my doctor and they said just to go directly to labor & delivery at Mary Immaculate Hospital. My mom drove me down there and they monitored it for 2 hours, as well as lucas' heartrate which was normal. Well, by the time I left the hospital, my BP was 109/70...so I guess John was right-a while ago he said the machines are not accurate, especially when I had been walking around before testing. I didn't even call John since nothing happened; he is on the ship for duty probably til tomorrow night. By the way, Thanks Lindsey + Shawna for getting me the number to John's ship anyway.
Anyway, I am home now, and I am glad that my blood pressure is good and lucas is healthy, but I have to say I really want to be induced so I hope tomorrow's appt reveals that I am ready to be, and then I will beg Dr. Shwayder to please do it! Here-I found a picture online of my doctor- he's a really great doctor and funny too. And he's very prolife--even convinces women that come to his office to give their unwanted babies up for adoption!

Even tho you want to be induced, I'm SO GLAD your BP is just fine. My BP was great with Maxine and my feet still swelled up in the 9th month, too. One of those perks you get no matter what!
Come on Lucas!
Wow, what a day! I am glad y'all are ok.
How come you're not approving any of my comments since last night?
No problem! I'm sorry it wasn't the real thing. If it happens and you need, just call me and I'll get ahold of John for you and get him on his way when the time comes!
sarah- sorry i thought i approved your comment. Wasn't this the only one?
lindsey- thanks i will keep that in mind. I didn't know if the number i had for you was still the same since you guys moved, but i didn't end up calling john anyway since at the time i thought nothing was wrong...til todays appt confirmed i do have high bp. so now we have to do more pee/blood tests and check on friday to see if my BP is too high to be manageable (meaning induction will be likely) or if bedrest (boo) and medication is the best route. My main concern now is that john will be here for the birth and as much time as possible after of course--since they might make him go underway at the end of this month. so much unknown stuff to think about!
and sarah- yeah my feet were swollen already, but i did notice recently that they were even fatter than before --and considering i gained 6 lbs in the past week, I know i am retaining a lot more fluid!
