The Revealing

I feel like we lost ourselves the past 3 days--we have been so busy moving and cleaning and installing...we lost all sense of time and place...our bodies ache, but the house is done!! There are few little things we need to do/buy, but we will do them one at a time. We are very pleased with the way the house has turned out, and can't even see it as the same old dirty house we first walked into in November, and walked out thinking, "ugh...no it's not what we thought...too much work and cleaning..."
It is very fulfilling to have truly made this our home. I really think making those dorky paint drawings assisted us in figuring out what we wanted to do with 2760 sq ft of house. John has worked so hard and I am really proud of him; not just at home with moving and caring for the kids with me, but at work too. His coworkers compliment him all the time and he's been given some great gift cards for dealing with stressful situations with the pipeline. And the cherry on top is that he actually likes his job :)

Here is the house in 3 videos:

Lucas hit the ball into Olivia....but she was okay :)

I took pictures, but they don't really show the house as well as the videos:
We got a few things left to do this week--security system, dishwasher installed, and some large furniture deliveries from Ikea. More pictures when that comes. We are eventually going to repaint (spray) all the doors too, but for now we replaced all the knobs. Come visit Texas!

You have no idea how excited I am for you. I noticed you were gone and I was going to text you, but I knew what you guys were up to, so I decided to wait for this blog ;)

Everything looks amazing! I really WISH we could afford a house like that in California; it would be a dream come true. Your house is SOOOO beautiful. Congratulations to you and your family.

I pray that God will always be with you in your home.

Aw thanks Iris-- I appreciate your participation through all this! I wish we could afford a house like ths in CA too lol. Plus it would be fun to go on little day trips w/ you and eddie again. That's the real downside lately is that we don't know anyone real well out here, and the people we knew and liked were at the church...we have had to switch to one closer so it's starting over again. I hope some of my family comes to live out here. And I hope friends and family visit--it's nice to actually have room to host visits !
Anyway, I am going to look for a playdate group or something. It's hard to forge new friendships--especially as a mom. You know how hard it is to a.) actually like someone's company, and then b.) have time to devote to that friendship while taking care of a busy toddler/baby etc. I don't think I've ever been a good friend to anyone, even before I was a mom..I devoted everything to John lol. But I hope someday I will have a good friendship with some of L or O's peer's parents. You know, when they're in school and everything. John and I are both excited for our kids to play sports or music or dance or any activity.
anyway, thanks! we like our house very much. I pray God is with you and yours too Iris :)

we want you to come see it too! I think you should visit and meet with david our realtor guy, and see what is available. See if you like the area first. Although, I know you probably want to stay close to Grandpa for now. But yes come visit soon!
