I taped off the utility room and painted it the Olivewood color I liked.
Then I decided to check out the baseboards, trim and shelves in the master closet--as I hadn't really looked in there too much. It was just as thrashed and dirty as the rest of the house. And on the top shelf there was trash, pamphlets and clothes...and what I believe to be roach poop..yuck. I threw the trash out, scrubbed the shelves lysol cleaning spray, but they didn't look bright and clean---and I didn't want to put my clean clothes and things in there as it was. So I took on the task of repainting all the shelves, door frame and baseboards this bright swan white color. I didn't take before pics, but it was worlds better after the white paint---I would put my things in there now!
Then I used the rest of the gallon of Olivewood for the closet. I didn't realize how much time had passed, and all of a sudden it was 4pm! John had worked overnight so he was sleeping upstairs while the babies played. We went to lunch, and then the babies took a nap so we worked some more. John pulled the last dirty toilet and touched up the baseboards in the half bathroom. I touched up more baseboards in the kitchen (all of them are bad, but there was one that their dog seemed to love...).
The LAST room to paint...tomorrow:
Tomorrow we will clean up everything and get all our stuff, and paint supplies and tools into the garage so the flooring can begin on monday. We have also collected so much garbage, so we will take it to the dump. Then we are getting our taxes done, and that will be it!
I need to take measurements of all the windows for blinds and curtains. And then we will shop around for appliances. Can you tell I am anxious to get in there? Gonna start taking apart shelves and our bed soon. I think we will rent a uhaul and move our stuff ourselves...Thank God we didn't get an upstairs apartment :)
