GE Money Bank--continued

So here's the update...John came home today and we immediately called the GE Money number to fix the aforementioned bogus finance charge, and of course some Indian lady that keeps condescendingly calling me "mam, mam," is bitchy with me. I swear this is the same freaking lady I reach every time I have a problem with any company! She must be doing overtime!

Anyway, she proceeds to tell me
"if you had a balance from february 12th to March 12th, there will be a finance charge, and a late fee."
Ugh! I kept telling her,
"I paid the minimum payment of $130 on 2/2, and then paid it off in full (one of the options when you pay online :"PAY FULL BALANCE") on 2/12. There WAS NO balance to finance-charge!--unless you're charging me for the 10 days between 2/2-2/12!"

She was rude and said
"Mam! let me finish and listen to me mam! If you had paid it off by the 4th you would not start a new cycle and would have no finance charge or late fee."

I was astounded by her nerve. Even though I paid the minimum payment, and then paid it off, they still managed to tack on more and more fees, and she's trying to justify it! I said,
"Oh, so it's actually 8 days you're charging me $130 for then? From the 4th-12th? You're ridiculous and you're obviously not going to help me."

I ended the conversation because she kept repeating
"mam, if you would have had a zero balance by the 12th, you wouldn't be responsible for the charge!"

And I kept saying,
"THEN I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGE!"

I hung up on her.

NOW HERE'S THE FUNNY PART.
I have John call back and he gets a different associate luckily. Then he says almost verbatim what I did, and she immediately says,
"Oh I see that! Let me waive those fees for you. You should have a zero balance by midnight tonight."


!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can you believe that sh*z??John says it's because I'm a woman...dang vagina!!!!!!!!

me too...it's just funny. I work so hard to keep all our financial stuff in order and it's a piece of cake for John to fix. Must be his deep voice! I will try talking with a big deep intimidating voice next time lol.

Man, that must be frustrating. But I doubt its because you're a woman. lol. I work at a call center and ALL DAY LONG I hear some of the worst 'customer service' and BS excuses because the person sitting next to. across from, or behind me doesn't actually know what they're talking about. I always want to like hijack their headset and do the job for them.

Sorry to hear about the frustration though. I'd have been furious!

...but if you were to talk with a deap voice that'd probably help too! lol
