Update on all our sickness...

Well, we have been so sick in this house for the past 5 days, and I hope I am not speaking too soon, but I think we are finally getting better. Here's whats happened (I like to keep all this documented just in case I need it later...which is the reason behind many a useless blog I write..lol)

 So I had a bunch of prescriptions for my allergies, and steroids for inflammation, and eye drops for my eye infection. Nothing was working. Olivia while still sick with the flu, also had eye infection. We all went to minute clinic on saturday and they retested John--was positive for strep...would've been nice if they had given him the damn antibiotic 2 days ago...I was prescribed new eye drops since both of my eyes were now swollen burning and bloodshot. John was so miserable he took 2 nights off of work...that should tell you a lot, since John LOVES working overtime...guess he should so we can afford these doctors. He got penicillin.

     Sunday morning I woke up at 4 am with horribly stiff and painful neck, and when I'd swallow, the pain wasn't just in my throat, but in my neck and back of my head. I developed a fever and headache, and my eyes were worse than ever so I went to urgent care. They tested me for strep and flu--both negative. Diagnosed a new viral throat infection. Prescribed yet another eye drop (other ones weren't working again) and oral antibiotic for throat, and pain meds.

    I doubted these drs and meds, but tried them anyway....i guess after spending >$500 on drs, clinics, and prescriptions in 3 days, the third times a charm....We are feeling a little better today. John has infected right eye so he will be getting the same eye drops I just got (can't believe I had to use 3 and let my eyes get so bad) and his penicillin is starting to relieve his throat pain. He is supposed to go back to work tonight.

  My eyes still look horrible and I use the eye drops every 4 hrs but I am getting better too. My throat pain is worse so I am pretty sure I am getting the same viral infection John has, but my amoxicillin should cover it. Olivia seemed a little better this morning too. Her eyes are still puffy and crusty and the eye drops first prescribed for her weren't working so I will be getting her my eye drops too. She is on her last day of tamiflu--but still pretty sick...big hard green bloody snot that shoots out when she sneezes. John and I are still taking tamiflu as preventative, I really hope we don't get the flu...

        Despite what it sounds like, we have been keeping everything and everyone as clean as possible and washing hands...I've even been sleeping in guest room so I don't know how we all pretty much ended up with same viral infections, but we are hopefully getting over it. It has been a very rough past 4 days..seem like forever. Lucas is still doing well, as I think he is immune from all his suffering last month.

    Trying not to think about all the wasted money on drs and prescriptions that didnt work....just being grateful that one finally did and trying to move on with our lives! Sick of being sick in this damn house! Wanna get out and swim and workout and play at the park!

  I only hope I didn't speak too soon..
