That nasty white stuff on my swollen red tonsils is called "exudate"..so disgusting.
I still don't know what else we have, but here's the rundown: Olivia finished her tamiflu and no longer has fever. Still whiney and probably achey but otherwise active. Her eyes are still a little red and puffy, not as much crust. It's a total bitch trying to get these eye drops in every 4 hours because she's terrified...they don't burn though. It's just scary getting something dropped in your eyes...I've had to bribe her with one mike n ike:
John is better, but throat still is sore. I can't tell if we just have viral throat infection or bacterial, or both. I don't know if the antibiotics we are on are working, or if we are just slowly getting over it on our own. His right eye is still painful, a little red but he got the same eye drops so it should help. His neck just started hurting in the back like mine, kinda stiff, but that symptom is probably due to us being so sick.
I had a fever all yesterday and chills, and my throat started to hurt like strep. My neck pain isn't as severe, my eye pain has changed from pressure behind, extreme red, itchy watery, to feeling extra dry and blurry and achey when open too long, and a little less red. My eye sockets look like I've been sick for a while, just tired. I was worse yesterday...the undeniable proof was that I wasn't hungry at all...only wanted to eat tangerines. I tried to eat a waffle just so I could take my antibiotic, but my stomach wasn't full enough and I got real nauseous. We needed to go shopping but have all been so sick and stuck in this house not trying to infect other people, that we've been eating out. And none of it tasted very good so I didn't eat that much. I thought I had probably gained weight, but in fact I have lost..back in the 150's, temporarily i'm sure... I'd of course rather just be over all these infections and back into our routine though. My ears are kinda muffled and feel tight inside when I swallow..they are extra sensitive so when Olivia cries or does her stupid squealing when they play, it hurts! I don't know how I caught John's strep, since we have been sleeping separately, so I hope the kid's don't catch it.
I finally felt well enough to go shopping today, so when John was done sleeping (he went back to work last night) I went to target. When I was getting dressed Olivia came in my closet and she saw me putting on these skirt/pants and said "i wanna wear that too!" so I said, "okay go get dressed but you're staying home with daddy because you're sick." As I was about to leave she came down in these skirt/pants! She's done that before when I've worn these, so I just think it's so hilarious how observant and girly and capable she is ! She is so independent with tasks, but also SOO annoyingly clingy. But she's just so adorable and smart you can't help but give in.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts prayers and concern. Hope you all had a better mother's day than we did! And remember to always wash your and YOUR KID'S hands !
And now my kids are obsessed with bootywork. I was recording because right before we got sick last week, we were listening to music and the cars "hello again" came on, and they laughed so hard when I lip-synced the intro as a robot lol. And Lucas sings it a little, but they quickly turn it into a "Peanut Butter Jelly Time/Bootywork" mashup...Hey, we've had to entertain ourselves while in quarantine!
Lucas is gonna be that kid that gets expelled for sexual harassment in kindergarten for singing bootywork...
