A Better Day

Today was a better day. Lucas isn't totally back to himself, but he sure is well enough to be a butthole to Olivia again. So I asked them if they wanted to go to church today and they both said yes. They did well in the nursery I was told, and then we went to the Welcome Breakfast for new parishioners put on by the Knights of Columbus. The breakfast was delicious. We still haven't had a chance to register since moving here and I hadn't met anyone from the church yet so I thought today would be a good time to. The knights were all so helpful and welcoming--catered to us for sure! After eating, L & O were whiney but it went alright. It was nice to talk to parishioners and to the parish priest about what's important to the church. I asked about a pro-life ministry, and they said I should be the one to head it :) I guess they don't have a set organizer for it all the time. If I had help with L & O, I would definitely want to take it on. I think it would be very fulfilling and I would do all I could to help inspire parishioners to educate and change hearts & minds of people they meet. It was nice to be so welcomed into the church. We talked about their jobs and John's job, and they invited him to be a knight. I am going to encourage him to join. It would be so admirable if he did :)

Then we went home and since they were still real active and playful, we had a little snack and drink, and got ready for the gym...to go swim at the outdoor pool finally! It's open now, and it's huge. There are cool slides, but of course the kids and I stayed in the wading pool area. They got their lifejackets on and at first Olivia was afraid when I didn't hold her, but eventually she wanted to be let go for a little bit.
We got out and dried off on the chairs for a few minutes. I did slather a bunch of sunscreen on them, but it was overcast so it wasn't too much direct sunlight. Next time I think I will leave them in the child ctr and I'll go tan. I want to get darker, but I also need the vitamin D....doctor says my levels are low, but I don't want to get a prescription for what's readily available and free--sunlight!

She loves her pretty bathing suit

Pretending she's a monkey

Lucas got on my lap and told me where my boobies are....lol. "BOOBIES!"

After swimming, they wanted to play and I wanted to workout. So we did! I did the rock wall again a few times, a few different routes. And this time I had the instructor guy take a few pics.

Took the kids home and we were all exhausted...none more than Lucas. He always sits on the step to take his shoes off..fell asleep during that. Then Olivia was asleep but she pooped so I cleaned her and gave her a drink and I guess she thought Lucas looked so comfortable she'd join!

Lucas is still a little tired from all the sickness, but he had fun and ate a lot today so I think we're almost back to normal. :)

yes, i was happy to see him enjoying things again. I think I might take kids to child ctr today and go swim by myself a little :)

The steps aren't very comfortable lol..the carpet leaves indents on your skin easily and isnt very plush..i put him on the couch after taking the pic!
