Well, all who are still loyal to the Hodge Family Blog, I finally went and purchased a wireless internet adapter for the desktop, so I will be blogging more regularly now :)
I have been doing it all from my little notebook, so I didn't always have the patience to blog much. So here's an update!
We had a nice day replacing thermostats at Granny's and here at the Hodge house; I am a pro HVAC now lol. Then we had delicious spaghetti at granny's--Pauline made some good meatballs! AND guess who liked them? everyone, but most importantly Lucas. He is so picky sometimes. But once grandma louise swirled some pasta on a fork he couldn't wait to impress us by eating it all--and the next day too!
Unfortunately, late that night I became severely nauseated and couldn't sleep. At 2am I began vomiting. This was scary for me, because I never barf lol. I was praying that I wouldn't have to, but once I did I felt better. I hoped it wasn't the flu, but it was. All day the next day, (John's last day..wah...) I was sick and sleeping...couldn't eat. Yuck. John stepped up and took care of the babies, while also doing the laundry and packing his suits.
It was very sad to see John leave us, and surreal to be sleeping in his room he grew up in. Giving our babies baths in the bathroom that John rudely walked in on me in, when I was dating him--yeah I think I was probably taking a crap too! (We got over that embarassment phase too quickly lol) I am very happy with how our relationship/marriage has progressed, and anxious to see what our next stage will be.
Speaking of which, he has an interview and test later this month with Duke Energy in NC. We really would like that job. He has a phone interview with Nucor later this month also, and then next month he is being flown to Florida for an interview with TTS. And guess what recruiter got him these interviews/wrote his resume and cover letters? Me. The headhunters haven't done much for him, but I think I deserve a commission :)
So Johnny comes to visit on New Years for a week or so, and then leaves until he's out in february for good! So close :) For now, we are enjoying spending time with john's family, who no doubt will be spoiling the babies this Xmas. I am still getting over a cold (going to dr tomorrow), but as soon as we are all healthy, I hope to meet up with many other California friends/family!
