Grandma Emma has passed. Her sons say she was cheerful and aware almost right up until she was gone. She requested pain relief Monday night, and soon after went with God.
Here's to you Grandma, even though we aren't blood-related, you made me feel accepted and gave me lots of good memories I will always cherish. I was shy and scared as a little girl, but always wanted to go with my brother and sisters on your little outings. We used to go to the cabin she owned in Lake LA and hike the little mountains there. We used to ride in the cadillac over the "wee-bumps" on the 14. You took us to the Crystal Cathedral. We played 'Pokeno' and dominos. I accidentally called Reese's Peanut Butter Pieces, "Reese's Penis" and you kept that term for your Peanut butter lol. You powdered us all up after baths at your house, and had labeled plastic covers for our toothbrushes. The street names in the Valley will forever sound in my head in your voice: "winnetka, vanowen, reseda, devonshire.." You and Grandpa always had a fun and comfy home, with delicious fruit, jams and pies. I am so glad Lucas + Olivia got to meet you. Thank you for the memories:
