I finally got to meet Iris in person :) We met through mutual friends/family, and endured our first pregnancies together on our family blogs. We shared many firsts with our sons Eddie and Lucas, who are ~2 weeks apart. I am sure my birthing story scared her, but hers seemed to go so smoothly and exactly with her and her husband's plan!
Having seen each other become moms, it felt like we had already known each other a long time. We met up at a children's museum called Kidspace, which was between both of our cities. It was perfect for all 3 babies to explore in a clean (constantly sanitized) and safe environment, as opposed to pulling L + O away from blinds, outlets, computers, trash, TVs etc which is what has been my exercise daily :) Eddie is just as cute in person as he has been online! He was very focused on putting the shapes in the right places, and says them by name--also he has an OCD obsession with spinning things so they fall perfectly :) Meanwhile, Lucas ran around and threw balls in the hoop lol. Olivia was just happy to roam freely! Enjoy all the pics:
Iris took this picture--which I love. I love Lucas actually looking at the camera, I love Olivia's "huh?" expression, and I don't think I look as big as I thought I did--I never wear shoulderless/tank tops without something covering my arms lol. Thanks Iris!
Iris patiently climbed this huge tower with the boys, while I entertained Olivia in the carrier (courtesy Iris!)
Of course, Olivia found the 'food'--piggy!
This was Olivia's little friend--they would laugh at each other while one climbed the ramp, the other climbed the slide lol.
We all had a nice day together, and decided to eat at a good mexican cafe in old town pasadena. It was nice to actually talk in person and have a family outing. We are going to take a trip to Disneyland together soon! Iris kindly offered to buy my ticket as a welcome (back) to CA gift! lol
I then drove the babies over to spend the night at Susan's in Reseda, but she had to work the next day so I drove home the next morning. Next time we will have to make sure she gets some time off! It was nice to see the same old grandpa Charles play with L + O, despite his current situation. We are praying for Grandma Emma to get better and stay strong! We love you grandpa.
And thank you Iris for inviting us--it was the perfect playdate :) (for me too)
