At the Library

I have been meaning to take the babies to the baby reading at the Williamsburg library, but I never get up and get them all ready in time. Today I did. :)
When we first got there everything was fine. Lucas loved playing with the train table with other toddlers. There were actually many people there with toddlers and babies of all ages. Of course mine were the only ones acting up. I had Olivia in the body carrier and thought I could have Lucas sit on the ground or stand and listen to the stories, do the dances, clapping etc. But he just isn't used to cooperating like that. I ended up putting him in the stroller. When it was over, we went back over to the train table and he loved playing with the kiddies there again...so much in fact that he SCREAMED when we left. He is getting REALLY bratty about things and I think it's time for disciplining him and teaching him 'no' and the consequences of not listening. We'll see how that goes..lol.
But Olivia has also been teething so bad that she just shriek/sighs/cries all the time lately. Susan hit the nail on the head when she said it's like that noise Jim Carrey makes in dumb and dumber:

THAT IS EXACTLY IT....ALL DAY!
Anyway, here are the few pics i got---sorry for the bluriness--had 2 whiney babies!
This picture defines our visit:

But I think if we can go regularly, Lucas will be better and get into it.

And then we went to briefly catch grandma at the end of her tennis match. Lucas just kept running away from me so we left after about 10 minutes, and they both went home for a nap before we went back out to the park. But I found out Lucas is now very afraid of elevators, which he's going to inevitably have to deal with since I am not even attempting dragging a double stroller up and down stairs!

They get more used to it and better every other time, I think. You are doing good by exposing them to this type of environment. Makes it easy for them to transition to school, I say.

You poor thing though with two kiddos. Could you have someone go with you and help?

I guess I could, but I already feel like I am taking advantage of my mom and Susan when John is gone.

Besides, I kinda like to force myself to be independent and make things work somehow, or just come home if I have to. I don't want to impose the repercussions of my choice to have back2back babies, on anyone. know'm sayin?

Completely! If I were in your position, I would feel the same way. :)
