On the road...Texas is too long...

We left friday night, July 10th, at 8pm. The babies all slept pretty well, and I did on and off...mostly waking up scared about whether John was awake or driving too fast! But he drove us all the way through the longest part of Texas, passed El Paso during a scary thunderstorm and finally to a NM rest stop to take a snooze and watch the sun come up:

We continued driving and got breakfast at an awesome diner in Benson AZ--forgot the name but it was delicious breakfast. Huge slice of ham for John and a breakfast burrito for me. We got back in and headed to our first hotel stop, just outside of Surprize AZ, which I remembered was where my sister's dad and wife had recently retired to...I decided to try to get together with them and we ended up having a nice mexican dinner, a new house tour, and talk. It was nice seeing them and I hope we weren't intruding!

 Here we are posing for Olivia to take a picture. Obviously we all thought she was aiming a lot lower than she was haha. It's a big camera so she could barely hold it up! Good job though! It's more focused than some of daddy's shots!

It was nice seeing Jon & Debbie. They are part of our crazy family whether they like it or not :)
