Day 5- Bra Lea Par Tits

When the other Hodge's went to Magic Mountain, we decided to instead go to the Griffith's Observatory and the La Brea Tar Pits. Call it a field trip:)
   Unfortunately, too many damn hikers used up all the parking spots at the lot by the observatory which is at the top of a very steep mountain--some were parking along the way but there was maybe a foot-wide dirt path going up the hill, which you could easily fall off of, especially with little kids and a double stroller. So it wasn't in the cards :( The place is mismanaged since it's all paid by the city, and parking is free. I say hikers should start at the bottom! This is the only pic of the observatory I got:

 Pretty interesting at the tar pits though--you have to wonder if birds and small animals still are getting trapped in there today. So much oil in CA but the libs won't let us utilize it!

 Then we went and saw the 3d documentary about the ice age. Pretty cool to know!
