We arrived fairly late at night on wednesday, so we didn't get any pictures til the next morning. Here the little ones are, all giggling because Jim kept sitting on them. I hope they re-enact that scene in 10 yrs. :)
I thought it would be cooler than Dallas, I guess because we had only visited in April and November before. It was actually really hot and humid, so we had to keep cooling the kids off.
John and Jim played a game of Pandemic and Shawna and I grabbed some groceries and Chick Fil A. I never liked it before, but finally tried their original chicken sandwich and it was great.
I will have to upload the video later, but Alex was a great dancer and loves this Taylor Swift song. He really performs in front of the mirror and wouldn't let Olivia dance with him haha--she was just an adoring fan.
Then Shawna, who has everything imaginable for kids, brought out the slip n slide. I wished I wasn't pregnant--it looked so fun and the kids needed to see how you really use it...
Olivia laughed at getting to be a boy that day :)
There's John in the background, contemplating sliding...unfortunately, he did try when my camera wasn't on, but failed to remove his shirt and therefore didn't slide.
Here's Lucas playing his anrgy birds on the ipad, (don't know why John kept giving it to him while we were on vacation..) and there's Jacob trying to mess Lucas up lol.
The next day we went to the mall, and they have a huge play area for the kids. Shawna decided to take me and Olivia to get our first pedicures ever. You can tell by my smile that I was a tad uncomfortable; I haven't ever had one, and I know the little Asian gal doing mine was talking some smack about my long feet/toes..it did feel good and my feet are smoother though. Olivia liked it a lot and had a little flower painted on.
The mall has a big carousel and train ride too.
Then during everyone else's nap time, we had a little 'school time' with preschool books Shawna had.
We then had to barbecue some goodness...the boys went to Costco and bought some filet, tbones and king crab legs. YuM!! And also made the kids hot dogs :)
Really big house! I was only used to big homes in TX, but this one essentially had 3 floors of rooms, including the finished basement.
We were thankful Shawna doesn't like any seafood....and we got to eat more crab lol.
Jim is always good at keeping the kids entertained. It's exhausting just watching! The kids loved it.
Then we went in the game room and tried to watch a movie but Alex brought his ipad, on which he likes to watch animal births, and easybake oven videos....that captured L & O's attention too. They followed him around til he was tired of them and went to bed lol
Next day was a little overcast, but we went to a nice park so John and Jim could play a round of disc golf. Shawna and I took the kids down by the water and watched them throw rocks in.
We also bought awesome water guns to keep cool in the humidity.
And bubbles.
Then it started raining and we hung out in our trunks til they were done playing disc golf.
We came home and showered, and then ordered dinner...here John was relaxing, with Olivia's blankie, and I couldn't help but take a picture as I reminded him there's a bottle of Jergen's next to him (which is why he's laughing)
This night we went to the Ameristar casino, while Shawna's mom Diane graciously babysat all of the kids. They behaved very well we were told. Jim and Shawna primarily played (and won some) on the slots, while John and I tried out different "strategies" at the roulette tables. I won quite a bit, and John did at first, but the "Dalembert" method (which Norman also thought he'd invented) eventually loses it all. I love roulette...and walked away with a little over $600.
Another pose for the kids to re-enact every trip :)
Here they are all sleeping in Jim and Shawna's bed when we returned from the casino. :P not sure if they should re-enact this one in 10 yrs haha.
Our last day--- we went back to the casino for a great buffet. I played a little bit more roulette and lost a little, but had a great time.
It's so nice to have friends so close, (considering how much we moved around...CA, NY, VA, TX..) and we all like each other all right. :)
Alex & Olivia running off to the casino.
Everytime he touched her, she would come tell me, "mommy! he touched me!" She was his little groupie.
Since we didn't have 'school' this trip, we used the magnadoodles to do a little 'carschooling'. Lucas is such a neat writer, and is really learning his letters and sounds quickly. I was glad that the 5 day trip didn't seem to undo what they were learning.
And then what does this girly choose to spell?
See you next yr Seagos!
