We went to L + O's godparents yesterday to celebrate their nephew Landon's 7th birthday. It was a lot of fun and great food--although John and I tried to just "sample" the food, as Eileen and Chuck offered to babysit so John could take me out to a belated birthday dinner.
Eileen + Chuck's house, full of people--Eileen's mom Vicky, their children Peter and Daniella, Eileen's brother Mike, his wife Tara and their 3 kids live in it--but it's so huge it could probably fit even more :) Their food was as always, delicious. I am planning regular trips to learn some new recipes, specifically their lumpia and pansit filipino dishes.
Lots of fun playing with the kids and all their toys!
After the waterballoon fight, we had cake--a buffalo cake, because that's Landon's 2nd favorite animal lol.
After Landon opened his gifts, (lots of Legos!--i think his favorite was ours...lego racers--john knew it would be a hit) John and I went to a local restaurant for my "birthday" dinner. I had a grecian pizza, which was okay, but the sauce was full of wine--I could've gotten drunk! John had a seafood platter. We quickly came back as I was worried Olivia was whiney or Lucas missed us. I was wrong on both counts :)
It was a fun time and I am so grateful to have Eileen and Chuck as L + O's godparents. Lucas is so comfortable with them--he even gave Eileen a kiss (unsolicited!) after mass!
Oh Eileen also bought him this cute jacket from LL Bean--perfect for this fall's trip!
