I know people will always give me "friendly advice" as a mother, but from what I've read and what I know of Lucas, he is ready for baby cereal. And judging from his reaction, I think I was right! He is still drinking breast milk, but I think maybe once a day, we will continue to try the cereal. Thanks to Elise for the donations!

LUCAS! OMGOODNESS! You are so big!
Don't worry Sam, they can eat cereal from age 4-6 months. As long as he can sit up, shows interest for food and doesn't push the food out with his tongue. And it looks like he is good to go, from this video! I think he is going to be a good, healthy eater. You can make different natural baby foods, like Sarah does soon too!
Funny, last night I was talking about this subject with my sister in law (who has a 4 month baby) She said her baby is ready for food, but she's gonna wait till 6 months. In her case, even though she is a SAHM, she said it's more convenient to breast feed. This is her 4th baby.
As for me, I am anxious to feed him cereal too! His hunger seems never ending..I can't keep up!
Eddie isn't quite 4 months yet, but already he has been showing interest in food. I don't think he's ready to sit up on a chair yet though :) We'll see what happens in the next weeks.
This is so exciting for us first time moms. Congratulations to you and Lucas for this step.
It is amazing how fast they grow up :)
I was just talking to a friend today about giving Chase cereal...I think I might in the next week or 2.
Lucas did a wonderful job eating for his first time.
yeah i dont know how much longer i can keep up with his appetite either! i think eddie will soon be able to try the cereal too! and you have a cool header on your blog...how do you make those?
Look at him! He was SO ready for that, you can tell. Good for you following your instincts, Mommy!
Oh they are super easy to make. You need to download Picasa photo editor. There is a feature in there to make collages. :)
thanks sarah- i think he was ready! but he definitely prefers the milk still lol.
iris- will check it out-thanks!
He'll stay fuller longer with something more solid in his tummy. Maybe he'll sleep through the night if he doesn't already. You can feed closer to bed time too for this to, maybe, happen. Yeah Lucas!
he eats all the time and is never satisfied it seems! but most of the time he does already sleep through the night--just recently he is irritable frmo teething so he is easily woken and screams.
