Photo Editing Fun
I've been messing around with this photo-editor program (GIMP) in my free time and wanted to show the few I worked on. It's a free program to download, so I reccommend trying it out- it's fun! It's really 'technical' but there are some good tutorials to learn how to use different filters/layers etc.
Before

This is Alex from last summer when we first started game night. He is getting sleepy on his favorite pillow with his bunny, named "killer." lol. (Jim named it*)
After

I tried to use this vignette effect to make it a spotlight on his face, changed the color and contrast levels, and added little sparkles on his eyes. I like it.
Before

This is my niece Rocky. She is starting kindergarten this year, but she is definitely ahead for her age.
After

It took a while to learn how to use duplicate layers to get both b & w and color. And then I used my favorite filter, softglow.
Before

This is a picture of Susan and Rocky at Disneyland last August.
After

This is a fun but scary distorting tool, called 'Iwarp'. Kinda fun to check out--you can also make yourself look thinner/fatter..still perfecting that one lol.
Before

This is a before of John holding Lucas on one of his quick visits home.
After

I like how the softglow made him look porcelain.
Before

This was at the New Quarter Park--John's first time holding Lucas in the Snugli* cute huh?
After

I used the 'emboss' effect- I wanna put this on a coin and make 'luca' the new currency lol.
Before

I love when he makes this face.
After

kinda scary no?

Those look good! Alex looks like he has a pretty good tan going on..I am jealous!
Actually, yes, that last one is kinda scary! I really like that one of Rocky with b & w and soft glow in color.
shawna- yeah, i meant for it to look like there was a spotlight on his face, but it works for tanning too lol.
thanks sarah- I am going to try to work on more raquel pics that susan has. I need to learn some new stuff to do on that program but they get so complicated and there are so many steps.
