As always, John's schedule changed again. He was allowed to come home for part of the day today, but I took him back at 5pm. We had a short but sweet time as we had a Lucas photoshoot. John will be coming home most likely for part of tuesday, and then out for 4 or 5 days for the actual builder's sea trials, and then hopefully on a regular work schedule for a while.
I was messing around with this photo editor program and also using different settings on my camera, and I actually liked a lot of them.
He looks so sweet--he looks so much better with the natural sunlight instead of the harsh flash.
JOhn took this one of me and Lucas- I actually liked it. Lucas was looking at me for a long time and John missed it, but I like that his eyes are closed anyway.
I have been putting him on his belly for a little while so his neck and back will get stronger.
These were taken with the color accent setting on my camera--i love how he poses.
These are all unedited ones we took of his little outfits:
This frog outfit was a gift from John's cousin Ken and his wife Linda- thank you!
This cute polo outfit was a gift from Aunt Susan- I couldn't stop laughing at how those pants fit him- his feet don't poke out even though he has long legs! Another outfit he will grow into--and he is growing~ i love his chubbiness!
I bought this outfit for him when I was around 26 weeks. I still can't believe it's all done, and sometimes I even miss being pregnant. But I love holding and loving Lucas and I am excited for all the milestones and memories we will make. I know John is too.

I love the new pictures! Sorry I didnt give you the heads up on the boys coming home. I didn't find out that it was even a possibility until about 10 last night, and I was in bed when I got the text message. Then, Nick called on the way home, so I figured by that time you had probably heard from John about it!
I understand how you feel. I miss being pregnant too. But I also understand how wonderful it feels to have him here already!
The pics are great! I love the last one. He looks like a little super hero showing off the "big guns." lol!! I hope you enjoyed your time with John!
lindsay- It's okay- john called me the night before briefly to tell me they were coming home for 'part of the day'. His new phone works so I get to hear from him from time to time. I hope this week will finish off all this crap!
iris- yeah, it was so much easier to take care of Lucas in utero lol. but he's so cute and is getting stronger and more alert everyday. I know once he's probably around 2,we will want to have another one, if we aren't pregnant again by then!
shawna- thanks, and it's alright about the mall thing, we just pushed lucas around and i bought john some bigger underwear (he "outgrew" the ones he had). but he hopes this next week is the last of this schedule for a while so we can have regular game night again. its too bad they will be gone for v-day...we actually were going to celebrate it this year.lol. I told john that now that we're parents we have to start celebrating everything! (since we never really have..)
Sam he is sooo beautiful. I am so happy for you and John.
I don't know maybe it is too soon to say but I do not miss being pregnant!
I am just so excited that Chase is here even thought I have not slept in a week and I can't stop crying :) (happy cries)
Lucas has beautiful skin! Did he have the newborn rash at all? Chase has a little on his face. I keep thinking it hurts but the DR said he can't feel it!
Love the pics. They are precious.
Ok, I'm not just saying this cuz he's my nephew: He is so so beautiful.
The unedited pics are really fun and charming and the edited ones are so pretty and very professional-looking. I love what you did with them. Is the software on your camera or on your computer and would you be able to edit pics I send you?
All of these pictures are great!
Jen- Thank you! Chase is so cute--and I know it's wierd to miss being really big and pregnant, but it was just exciting to have life inside me and read all the updates etc, but I know Lucas is going to be so much more exciting and fun the older he gets, and it will be fun to give him a little bro/sis when he's aware of what's going on.
Sarah- Thank you! I have had this program called "GIMP" and it has a lot of the same options that photoshop has, and yet it was FREE to download! I never tried a lot of the effects since they were a little complex, but I looked up some tutorials on certain effects and its fun to use! You should download it- I am sure you could do a lot with it. I haven't even learned that much of it yet--i just use the 'softglow' effect mainly. The green pics were the effect of my camera setting on "color accent" which you may have on your camera too. I actually did 'edit' (i.e. distort lol) a photo of you and susan, and one of you and norman. I will email it to you---it's pretty funny!
oh and jen- he does have flaking skin and bumps all the normal newborn skin things...plus lots of eye boogers
Those pics you sent me are SCARY!!! I love them!
i know if you download that gimp thing and mess around with it, you'll make some good (and scary) ones too. I made a few of raquel but I can't seem to get them exactly how i want. I will post or send them probably tomorrow.
