Stations of the Cross Box

We are trying to do Lenten crafts up until Easter everyday. So far, we are doing a lenten calendar, and we signed a "Declaration of Dependence":

We also have started a lenten chain with things we are giving up, or things we will be doing that fall in line with the season (fasting, almsgiving, and prayer, also love, hope, faith and charity).

Today we made a "Stations of the Cross Box," that I was sent an article about. I changed it a bit to fit the crafty things I already have. We went over each station and what we think Jesus felt at each. It was a good exercise for me as well :)
Stations of the cross symbols:
1. Rope (twine) to symbolize Jesus' capture
2. Cross (popsicle sticks) to symbolize Jesus carrying his cross
3. Bandaid* Jesus fell 1st time
4. Rosary to symbolize when Jesus meets his mother on the path
5. A heart to symbolize the love of Simon sharing the burden of carrying the cross
6. A cloth (which the kids were supposed to paint his face on--Veronica wiped Jesus's face)
7. Bandaid* Jesus fell 2nd time
8. Tissue--Jesus comforts the weeping women of Jerusalem
9. Bandaid* Jesus fell 3rd time
10. Maroon strip--Jesus is stripped of his garments
11. A thick nail- Jesus is nailed to the cross
12. Crucifix-Jesus dies on the cross
13. Deposition-I didn't have anything to symbolize Jesus' being taken down from cross
14. Stone- Jesus is laid in the tomb, covered by the stone
15. Ressurection- They colored a card that says, "He is Risen".
And here's a cute picture--it was a game the kids invented for Frankie to play with them...called "Mario's and Ladders" (I'm guessing it's like "Chutes & Ladders"). Other than the backward numbers, I thought it was pretty good!
