Baby Shower Trip!

We took our short trip down to Houston this weekend for a friend's baby shower. The hotel was okay, but the 'queen' beds were actually 'full' size, so I did not sleep well. There was barely enough room for us cows. Frankie slept alright in the reclining chair, and I at some point ended up with Olivia and moved Lucas to sleep with Daddy. It would've been better to put the 2 beds together. AND there was no continental breakfast. AND they charged us $20 more than they were supposed to (assuming it was a typing error, but waiting for it to post before calling them). One good thing was that as soon as we turned on the TV, the history channel was airing the whole series of "The Bible", which we had been watching on DVD with Susan. It was really good.

We unfortunately didn't get a late check-out (they were booked), but John and the kids kept busy while I was at the shower; they went to all our old favorite places near kemah. We got some good meats (John brought the cooler) from the Bay Area Meat Market, and he took the kids to target for some toys and a donut pillow so I could sleep on the way home. Nice huh? I was grateful John did well with the kids alone; I wished they could've joined me at the shower, but it was for females only, and boy does Monica have a lot of female friends and family!

Her sister and mother organized it and they have always been great at hosting parties. Little did I know, Marina is pregnant too! It's a happy time for their family for sure:

Check out the real cake! Looks fake huh? Was pretty good too :)
I was pretty proud of winning this game--we had to unscramble all 25 baby related words--I did it the fastest. I should know right? I got 3 young'uns.
Here is Monica opening the many gifts she got. Her sister and nieces helped to make it all go smoothly.
Here is beautiful Monica, due next month, holding my diaper cake :)

And here are the pictures from the night before in the hotel. It's always fun to travel as a family, even with all the chaos of feeding, changing, bathroom stops, etc. I appreciate that John is never afraid to take road trips. I think we have and will have lots of great memories for our children about going on all our cross country trips!

I thought this was adorable. We don't have cable, so they all were glued to the TV..even Frankie! uh oh..
 Brothers <3 p="">

Frankie loves to watch Lucas and learn from him. He even laughed out loud at him last night. Lucas is trying to teach Frankie to 'use your mouth' to talk already :P
