Strict Diet...

I have totally eliminated dairy from my diet for the past week, since my Dr told us Frankie was exhibiting symptoms of an allergy to something in my milk. The most common culprit is dairy so we started with that. It's been rough, but I was able to find things I enjoyed without cheese or butter or milk etc. But 2 days ago I noticed Frankie was getting worse...his poops were more mucousy and green, he seemed to be crying when he was pooping, he was spitting up a lot more, and suddenly had this horrible rough red rash develop on his face. I researched it and compared pictures and saw that this was eczema, which shows up on babies in relation to severe food allergies. I have been eating a LOT of almonds...almond milk, almond butter (expensive!) and raw almonds (recently found I love them raw). I know that was causing this reaction and so I called his doctor. She said from now on to eliminate ALL the common allergens...meaning:
NO DAIRY, NO EGGS, NO WHEAT, NO NUTS, NO SOY, NO CORN....
I said, "what can i eat!?" I have been eating bacon and rice. lol. I hope when we see the dr on january 7th, that Frankie is all cleared up and we can start adding each one back in to find which ones irritate him. So I will be making lots of soups, and hopefully Johnny will bbq for me often. There is nothing in my pantry that I can eat. It's rough. I need to be eating to make milk too, so I better go shopping soon..Here is a picture when his rash was the worst---it also began to crust over and form on his ears too...poor thing:
It has improved a bit since yesterday--a little less red/inflamed:
So this means all the hundreds of ounces I've saved in the freezer are useless...I had almond milk with my cereal everyday...I think the bunches of raw almonds threw his immune system overboard.Maybe I should donate it all?

OH BABY! :( I am so glad you are the kind of mom that you are: You research and make changes. I still want to squeeze him!
