Santy!

A few days ago I decided last minute to go with Norman to the mall (he needed some clothes) and I brought all the kids to take pictures with Santa, and daddy could meet us there after work. Well, I picked the wrong night...evidently it was "take pet pictures with Santa" night. I found that to be ridiculous. There was a very long line of people with their dogs...NO kids, just dogs to take pictures with Santa. I was so irked I asked one of Santa's helpers if there was a line for HUMANS---you know, since Santa is a fictional figure meant to be enjoyed by KIDS. I just looked around and realized that is a defining of our society; people would rather have dogs, and treat them like kids (probably even wrap gifts for them..) than have the responsibility of true parenthood...

 















Anyway, Susan joined me for a second try last night, and although we got there when Santa went on break, and we waited for an hour in line, all 3 kids did amazing while waiting--and they were hungry all that time as well.

We are celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve since John works Christmas night---I don't remember the last Xmas he had off. It always feels odd celebrating before every one else. But very happy to be where we are and together to celebrate it at all :)
