A year later, having Olivia, I got to the hospital (new hospital, new doctor) at 7 cm again, and barely got the epidural. I pushed Olivia and her small head out with ease. But Lucas had done so much damage that I was never the same. I went to an obgyn in Houston last year about some issues I had, and she found that I have a significant amount of scar tissue on my inside to the right. It even affects John..I was in talks with her about injections to relax the muscle and repair it, but never ended up going back and we moved etc...it didn't pass my mind again til about a month ago when I started thinking about having Frankie naturally. I decided to ask my current OBGYN about the scar tissue; if the scar tissue prevents me from being able to stretch during sex, won't it be even worse during labor when it has to stretch the most!? The doctor agreed that that is a concern, and convinced me that getting an epidural and letting him "fix" what he can after the birth is the best idea. The thought really worried me that I might tear even worse and do irreparable damage that may leave me incontinent, or worse, that it would harm Frankie or keep him from progressing and depriving him of oxygen etc... SO, those are the reasons (on top of being sore, tired, and it being convenient for everyone's schedules here) I am being induced tomorrow morning.
Today I actually saw my mucus plug (such a gross term...for something very useful) and I have some cramping and braxton hicks (which are contractions that tighten my whole uterus but typically aren't real painful like labor contractions). Who knows if anything might happen in the next 8 hrs, but if not, I will be induced somehow in the morning. I am not sure which method we will do first, but I hope it all goes smoothly and safely and that Frankie is a good sleeper like his older brother!
Tonight it was pretty chilly so we put on the fireplace, and did some puzzles. I hope I won't be gone too long because I know i'll miss my L & O :) Thanks to everyone for your prayers and thoughts! We are ready to officially become a party of 5!
Here are some cute pictures--Susan bought some new clothes for Lucas and Olivia from her work. They liked them (and needed them!)
Here's Olivia in her new workout clothes Susan got her; they match Susan's workout clothes. Olivia was excited and looked so cute in them.

And this was from a few days ago before we did school one day. Hope I can keep up with school with a new baby :)
