Finally Here

This trip was definitely a lot less enjoyable than last year's; there was absolutely no room in the car, and the babies weren't ready for that much continuous driving. We did see some cool things and eat some good food, but our minds are totally nervous and anxious about getting out in February and starting our real lives somewhere new. I will say it's a total relief that we have found renters, and makes this whole idea make some sense :)

We got to CA today in the early afternoon, and the babies enjoyed meeting Grandma Louise and Grandpa Hodge--but Lucas really enjoyed seeing the doggies again. Olivia was a little scared but interested. Then we went to see Aunt Pauline and Great Grandma Croce ('Nona').
The babies were a little tired and hungry with not many toys to play with yet. We brought them home, fed them, bathed them (they hated it--need to buy bath toys!) and now they are sleeping.

Wednesday was the most hectic day I've had in a while. We packed and cleaned all day and night and got almost 2 hours of sleep, had trouble packing the car, threw stuff out that we couldnt jam in to Susan's car, and left around 5am. It was sad to realize we will never live in that house again. So many memories of becoming mom and dad :)

It's now surreal and sad to see the place where I grew up; not only because it's even more run down and crime-ridden, but because I can no longer go visit my old house, and my parents. I really miss my dad and wish he could've met the babies. I miss my mom being at our house to visit too. I hope L + O enjoy the time spent with all of John's family and that we can stay busy and entertain them when John leaves in 2 weeks.

Susan also arrived today, and is staying with grandma and grandpa mccammon's house in reseda, but Grandma Emma has been in the hospital for the past month with a rare lung/kidney condition that required dialysis and chemotherapy. I pray she gets to go home to grandpa and Susan soon.

Too tired to post pictures yet---tomorrow!
