Agh..but I ...digress---and I've never used that word before. I feel 0.5% as smart as before.
We just returned from a short trip to Austin to get two birds stoned at once. Norman lives out there now with his fiance until she finishes her internship and they move to Houston (where Norman will go to school for process technology). So we wanted to visit them and Shmoopy :) The other purpose of the trip was to take part in the pro-life prayer vigil outside the courthouse in downtown Austin. Last summer HB2 was passed which requires that Texas abortion clinics enact safety measures (this was in response to the horror that is Gosnell's >30 yr abortion mill) such as having doorways wide enough to allow room for gurneys, and to be ambulatory surgical centers, meaning there must be staff available who can administer emergency treatment, and that the abortionist is a credentialed physician with hospital admitting privileges. Too much to ask of the greedy abortion industry---and this law will result in many clinics closing. There will only be 6 'legal' clinics in Texas. So what will (and has begun) happening, is the wealthier abortion companies like Planned Parenthood will open abortion MEGA centers and our tax dollars will inevitably be used to pay for monthly bus trips from around the huge state to bus in the pregnant girls and women, lie to them, and get their blood money. I can already see the buses decorated with their slogans and pink flowers and perhaps hiring Sarah Mclachlan to serenade them for their trips.
For those pro-choicers who still tout the 'safe legal and rare' mantra, opposing this bill makes no sense. So they have changed to "Abortion on demand without apology," and "Forced Motherhood is enslavement". They obviously don't care if abortions are legal (their 'heroes' are doctors that perform abortions at any month regardless of law), they don't want them to be rare, because they 'love' their liberating abortions, and they now don't even care if they are 'safe', and by that I mean, that they strictly kill the baby and not kill or maim the mother.
So the pro-choicers are filing a lawsuit to overturn this law. Monday, the court started the hearings for the case. Pro-lifers came wearing blue in peaceful prayer and song. About 500 of us. The pro-choice came wearing orange (which is convenient since anyone wearing a nearby Texas Univ shirt looks to be on their side), and there were only about 25 of them---------you wouldn't know that just by reading news articles, who chose only to interview/show the few orange shirts yelling and cursing.
The kids were excellent to stand there for 3 hrs as it started getting hot, and I think they are trying to understand how these people need to be prayed for and shown the truth :)
I took a picture with the cops and told them "you're wearing the right color!"
Some pro-lifers stood behind them praying with their own signs as well. That angered them even more. I walked over with Frankie and Olivia (my brave sweet little girl!) and observed their hatred and anger for a little while. They told us to come talk to them but only yelled and cursed at us. "MF YOU!" was screamed on their mic. Convincing argument. They quoted "scientists" (but wait, man are not God right?) saying a fetus is not a baby, and it's just a clump of cells. Well, all of their defense is pure semantics not fact. We are all 'clumps of cells'. All living things are. I wished I had Lucas' secular Science book since we are learning the difference between living and non-living. Against the pictures of aborted babies that some pro-lifers had, their statement of "clumps of cells" fell pretty flat. So they adopted a new slogan. That babies in the womb are "not FULLY human". I tell you, these rabid abortion lovers are like islamofascists---there's no way to get through to people who slip and slide away from truth, and make up their own facts, and angrily attack any opposition, continually blinded to their own (abundant) contradictions.
So I waited with my hand held to ask the Ani Difranco-wanna-be 'leader' a question. She wouldn't acknowledge me while ranting on the mic to her following of 10 or so. But I approached her as she began walking away--2 people accompanied her but spoke not a word. I asked her what she defines human death as. She was confused and said, "there are a lot of ways". I said, well the medically accepted way is a lack of heartbeat, and/or brainwaves. Shouldn't the reverse be definitive of Life? She then said, "i think a fetus is a life, and abortion is ending a life, but it's not a full human." In the short conversation we had, she basically said a baby is not a full human while it's located inside the mother. So the minute it comes out of the birth canal, it's suddenly a 'full human', of course we never got to the question of whether or not the umbilical cord being attached prevents this arbitrary awarding of full-human-ness in her eyes. They talked about Dr. Tiller being a hero---read my previous blogs on him here. I said even Dr. Tiller offered funerals and baptisms and cremations for the babies he killed---he knew they were 'full humans'. There were complaints filed against Tiller, but they were never investigated because the person in charge of that at the time was...Kathleen Sebelius, the HHS director/scapegoat for the failed Obamacare---as pro-choice as they come. Of course the leader came back with "you know nothing about dr Tiller, he's a hero." A hero responsible for the death of a 19 yr old girl, Christin Gilbert with downs syndrome. She was 28 weeks pregnant and because Dr. Tiller and his staff didn't want the clinic to be seen as dangerous, they told paramedics not to come with sirens on or act with any urgency. She bled out of every orifice and died when they got there. Why was this not exposed and Dr. Tiller tried? Sebelius.
We talked a little about the bill and I asked her why she opposes safety measures--she said, "thats not what it was meant for." I said, "so you don't care about the horror that was Dr. Gosnell's clinic?" She said he was an anomaly... she is only able to say that because
1. clinics are rarely investigated even after years of complaints and accidental deaths.
2. the mainstream media never reports on them out of their own bias.
That's why even at the huge trial of Dr. Gosnell, who killed babies born alive weekly (and mocked them as he snipped their necks), who also told his staff to perform procedures they were not licensed to do, reuse filthy old equipment, saved baby pieces from full term abortions in jugs and refrigerators, told his staff to only treat the white women to the less-filthy room...the list goes on. 30 yrs this went on, and not ONE media outlet was there to cover it. Why? Because the dirty truth was being exposed and it was too much a threat to the abortion industry, which is one of the bigger funding platforms for liberal politicians.

Gosnell is NOT an anomaly; he is the standard. Because real doctors don't want to perform abortions---so they get the bottom of the barrel kooks to do it as long as their conscience can stand it.

Look at Dr. Carhart--he assisted Dr. Tiller in the abortion and death of Christin Gilbert . He was filthy and talked about saline abortions and how the baby is like the consistency of meat in a crockpot for hours. He never used gloves, and reused dirty utensils on patients. He performs abortions in Maryland up to the due date. (he's been recorded telling patients how late he will do them, regardless of law) He's called a hero too--despite the fact that he was responsible for 29 yr old Jennifer Morbelli's death after her late-term abortion last year.

How about Dr Karpen in Houston? Just last year, his own staff came out against him aborting full term babies---with photos and spreadsheets for pricing and all...and he was NOT charged with anything, and in fact now performs plastic surgery in Houston.

What really makes me sick is that these doctors they call 'heroes', and this abortion industry they claim saves lives, is all about money and political power---and they target black women for their permanent clients...coming back time after time to kill off the black race. That is why in the bigger cities like Detroit and NYC, more black children are aborted every yr than are born. These pro-choicers are so blinded by hate, they even hail Margaret Sanger (found of planned parenthood) as a hero, despite her clear stance on using abortion as a means of ethnic cleansing. She called blacks an inferior race and wanted to increase their abortion numbers. She succeeded.
Anyway Ani Defranco must've been uncomfortable because she suddenly asked, "You guys are Christian right? You believe in the bible? Do you think women should submit to their husbands?" I didn't even answer and tried to keep her focused---because my faith is not the reason why I am pro-life. Of course my faith and love in Christ makes me more passionate about the issue, but my stance is based on my HUMANITY and LOGIC. She refused to let go of the Christian part, and some Christian college kid began explaining the bible to her so I left to get Olivia some water (it was hot). I wish I could've said so much more but you can't reason with people who will suddenly make up things like the idea of a semi-human. Of course to me, when people like her express their Godlessness and hate for people that believe in God, they really have no right to say anything is right or wrong, true or false, since to them, there is nothing and no one to answer to anyway. They say no man is God, yet they make themselves to be God.
We went back to the hotel to meet with Norman and Emily, but the rest of the prolifers marched 6 blocks up to the capitol building. I pray more clinics close, but more so that the pro-abortionists open their minds and hearts to truth. I also pray for the clinic workers who are everyday becoming strong enough to stand up against the atrocities they witness daily. It takes a lot of courage to do that and you are bringing nothing but truth to the surface---truth that will save lives, heartache and souls. Just look--one clinic worker at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado recently quit the industry, but not before exposing this photo she took of an award given to an Aurora CO clinic for "exceeding abortion visits".
