Lunch

About a year and a half ago, before I got pregnant with Lucas, John was on a work trip to Pittsburgh, PA for a week. I decided I wanted to try this diet that I had a book on by Dr. Ian Smith called "The Fat Smash Diet". I think it had 4 sections and I only did the first section while he was gone, which was easy since I wasn't making him meals etc.

Well, in the first section, it's all about Detox. There are lists of things you are allowed to eat, mostly fruits and vegetables, which it says you can even "fill up on". You can't have breads and the only grain you can have is 2 cups of brown rice. You can have no fat beans too. So my staple meal for dinner was:
2 cups cooked brown rice
1 1/2 cup cooked pinto beans
(Bush's pinto beans have 0 fat, and 28 % of your daily dietary fiber!)
1 diced orange bell pepper (they are a little sweeter than other bell peppers)
And a little bit of chalula and a tiny bit of cheese.
it doesn't look that great, but when you're dieting, it's a nice hot meal!

Well, this was surprisingly very satisfying and I did end up losing 7 lbs that week, but quickly gave up when John came home and we ate horribly again. But, that meal has stuck with me because it's easy and tasty, and I was craving it today you could say, so I am having it for lunch.

After I had Lucas I lost quite a bit of weight, mostly Lucas and water weight (~30 lbs!) and then once I found out we were pregnant again I haven't been on any kind of diet. But I have noticed with this pregnancy, that I might have really strong cravings for foods, but I don't eat nearly as much as I used to. I get full fast, and don't eat anymore because I will get sick! So I haven't really gained weight for this pregnancy YET, but look forward to packing on the pounds in this trimester and the third!
