Ugly Girl

Well, Sarah requested that I do another singing video, but I am sure this song is not whats expected...I don't even remember how I heard this song, but I thought it was kinda funny and cute (albeit mean) so I learned it today. BUT just in case this isn't your taste, I am learning some Julie London songs which is I think more typical of the songs I cover. Those songs are gonna take a little more effort because the chords are like so odd and complicated and I am learning them by ear. Anyway, here's a cover of "Ugly Girl" by a group called Fleming & John..dont know any of their other stuff.

It's not the best recording, but I don't have time to redo them anymore...I was doing this in between Lucas rants...and then I found out why he was crying..he just pooped. He is clean, happy and sleeping now. :)

aw thanks. i was worried you would be like "what is this?" but you do have a great voice---that should be your new project. Learn to play guitar and record videos too. or Didn't grandma give you a piano? i couldn't ever really play piano and sing.

She did give me a piano. It's been at my dad's house for over a decade :/ I have simply never gotten around to moving it. Thanks, but my voice isn't strong like yours. It's clean and school-girlish like yours is but not strong.
I have been singing every Tuesday night at this local dive where they have karaoke that night. I go by myself. Everyone knows me by now and I even have a nickname: "Pipes". Ha! Dumb.

thats cool- no one goes with you? karaoke would be fun, but out here going to a bar where they have it is equivalent to smoking a whole pack of cigarettes--i think by the end of the year they are supposed to finally ban smoking in restaurants and bars. never thought virginia would do that! you should get that piano for you and the girls to play with!

as for my voice, I guess being alone in ny and here sometimes, i was able to really practice uninhibited and it made a huge difference. my main problem that i hate is that my range is limited; pretty much every song i learn has to have the key changed because its either too high or too low, or both! i have had to change songs specifically for that reason ,i.e. dumb them down lol.

You have a great voice Samantha! I love this song! Perfect for my situation right now. I'm so excited about how well it pertains to me and my life. You know who I'd dedicate this song to;)

Hey Sarah, I'd go with you to karaoke. We live pretty close I'm sure. I've only done it once at Samantha's birthday party. I don't have a great voice but I think it would be a ton of fun. So if you want to go with someone let me know.
