Saturday November 1st was my baby shower for Lucas. Even though your mom is technically not supposed to plan your shower, my mom and sisters helped put together a great shower, and John and I were very pleased. My sister Sarah surprised us when she flew out with her adorable and inquisitive 4 yr old daughter, Raquel! It was her first flight, and for some reason Sarah didn't get seated beside her 4 yr old; Raquel was seated behind her--and get this--NO ONE would switch seats with her! Very rude. But thankfully Raquel was a big girl and was fine- enough to keep asking the lady next to her what she was doing on her laptop lol. Here are some pictures of them during their visit:
Just off the plane:

At a starbucks in the morning:

She was afraid of the dogs at first, but learned to love them...and learned how to lock Tyrone in the crate!:

And with the strat:

Coloring Care Bears-- she said, "Wow you're a good decorator!":

Looks like you had a great time. You got all kinds of neat stuff.
By the way you look so beautiful!
:)
aww thanks jenny! when's your shower?
I watched the whole slideshow and truly enjoyed it. You look so amazing and beautiful. John looks happy too :)
I would have liked a piece of that darn cake. It looked GOOD!
Thanks! I really tried to look good for the shower- I needed some pictures that I wouldn't be embarassed to scrapbook! I bought that outfit specifically for the shower..those were the most expensive jeans (maternity and not) i have bought in a while ($40) but the top was $4!!! at kohls, and I had the blazer type top from our confirmation earlier this year. And I'm sure you can tell my shoes were cheap...generic converse lol.
You look very cute. I don't know why, but I told G, when I am a mom, I want to wear converse.
I stopped wearing them because I had a bad experience in high school;
My parents couldn't afford to buy me new shoes for the new school year, so my friend sold me her extra pair of new chucks for $10. I wore them to school for the entire year! After the end of the year, I had to go to summer school with them. By the time I was in summer school, the rubber tip of the shoe had slits on both tops.
:( I hated it. Of course you know people made fun of me for it.
ANYWAY, I never wanted to wear chucks again.
BUT I am over that now. I think they are SUPER CUTE on mommies. Especially preggo ones and ones with toddlers <3
Oops I wrote a blog :(
lol at cutie Iris.
Sam, you look really pretty in all the pictures we took.
liar- i know there were some raquel took of us during the trip and I look pretty horrid! But your camera takes a lot better quality pictures than mine--and i do like the ones from the shower. thanks for constantly snapping shots during it--many people i sent the show to really liked feeling like they were there. Grandma said that grandpa can't believe how big I am with child! lol. And I am going to get a LOT bigger!! Don't know how much longer I can get up those stairs. lol.
Iris- if that traumatized you, then I should be pretty screwed up too! All throughout school I was wearing thrift store clothes and hand-me-downs from my sisters...and gradually all the pants were 'high-waters' on me. Pretty much the only 'new' clothes i got, were prolife shirts i had made lol. And believe it or not, John used to make fun of me for them--even made me cry. I hated him. And now he has become the perfect supportive husband and makes me a better person. Imagine that. He even told me he "admires" me the other day. And it wasn't for any 'reward' either lol. Glad you got over your aversion to converse- they really are perfect for any outfit.
