Stretch Marks Galore

Well, I have not been able to avoid feeling insecure about all the changes my body has incurred during this pregnancy. But hey, at least my teeth are straight right? Though I am so grateful and excited, it's a little scary to notice new unattractive body parts daily...and to realize you weigh more than your husband!
I am only 26 wks; 14 weeks still to go...I thought these nasty stretch marks (which I call my scars from a tiger attack) were all I had to worry about thus far:

But John informed me of new ones I conveniently haven't been able to see from up here, without the help of the camera:

I could feel my belly skin stretching- see the dark scars? My belly button is almost gone too:

And another ~15 lbs is on it's way. Next friday is our 4d ultrasound appointment and I am sure that seeing Lucas's face will be so exciting and rewarding I won't care so much about my body. But lately I have been watching childbirth videos and realizing there is a lot more to worry about than my vanity. I am getting pretty scared of the pain, but I can't wait to hold Lucas. And I'm sorry Brianne, but I think I will HAVE to get the epidural!

I got an epidural with Ethan and it helped me rest a bit. Since I was unable to because of the pitocin. It also didn't hurt as much but when it came time to push I didn't feel like it. I'm sure your labor will be great. Mine just was scary. My sister had an epidural both times. Her babies came so easy and labor was so fast for her on both. Believe it or not I actually liked the labor with Sophie and am excited to do it again for the next baby. I just don't like c-sections. Hopefully you won't have to have one.
I don't think I'm that brave to show my belly with all the stretch marks I got. I call it my spaghetti belly. Your belly still looks so cute. Stretch marks are inevitable, except for the special few. Every Mom has their share of them.

I feel your pain. I had SM's from before-Gaining and losing weight too quickly as a teen.

I see those old stretch marks stretching and I am like woah! O__O

I am sure you are using everything they say you should, to prevent more, right? After that, there's not much you can do but not worry.

Here's a good article to reference:

I always say, "I know I don't look sexy. But I am totally beautiful!"

You have it right, you will forget about it once Lucas is here.

I am scared of the pain TOO! Are you and John planning on taking any birthing classes?

What the heck are you apologizing for?! It's all nice and stuff to have a "birthing plan" but really, you're gonna have to play it by ear. "Plan" to hold out and see if you can stand it without the epi but if you end up wanting it, get it (as long as you make that decision before you're 8cm dialated).
These pictures are DARLING. You look so so cute. I never looked that good. I read somewhere else that your doctor doesn't "do weight". LUCKY YOU! I agree with her that they make too big a deal of it. The 3rd (and final) ObGyn I had with Max didn't "do weight" either. He just kept saying "You're right on track". Expect to lose a couple lbs in the 9th month, too (or look forward to it, I should say). I did with both pregnancies.
I'm so excited to fly out there and hang out!!!

Thanks everyone- yeah, I know it will all be different when I am actually in labor, but judging from the pain I had from the miscarriages, and the pain just from dehydration, I am guessing my pain tolerance isn't too high. I give you lots of credit brianne, you're stone cold!(or masochistic jk!)

And yes iris, I too have new extensions to old puberty stretch marks. I have been using more lotion on my boobs lately though, since my skin is stretching so fast that it's flaking where new stretchmarks will be. And I will be asking about childbirth classes at our next appt.

And Sarah, i am excited for your trip out here too- I really hope you enjoy it and that we can start putting the nursery together while you're still here so you can at least see it. And I tried to schedule the 4d ultrasound around your visit, but I wanted to have it before my shower, and during john's time off. But i still get to keep a 10 min 4d dvd so we can all see lucas face! why did you lose weight in the 9th month? (or are you referring to the 7 lb baby you 'shed'! lol)

No, I mean you actually stop gaining and could even lose a couple pounds while you're still pregnant. I don't know what causes it but its normal.
You said 'miscarriages'. I only remember you having one. When was the other one and where the heck was i?
