Day 3- Monday in CO/Day 4- Tuesday in UT

On the third day, we drove from Missouri, through boring old Kansas and into Colorado. John has a cousin there in Loveland north of Denver. Kansas was pretty plain to drive through, but there were many pro-life signs along the highway, despite the evil Dr. Tiller having had a late-term abortion clinic (before he was assasinated this year).





I kept seeing signs for "The Oz Museum" so I made John take the 9 mile detour off the highway, only to find this dinky little shop that was closed! We got back on the freeway and drove on through the whole state. We couldn't wait to get to say, "We're not in Kansas anymore!"





The elevation kept rising as we approached our destination in CO, and I did get a little bit nauseaus. But we made it there fine and got to stay a night with John's cousin Lori, her husband Dave, and their 10 yr old sweet heart Sierra, who Lucas loved. Their house was beautiful and they gave us the whole downstairs. The house just kept getting bigger and the downstairs bath was huge! Lori took Sierra to school in the morning where she also works as a Teacher's Assistant. Dave made us a delicious breakfast and we were on our way. We had a little lunch at Del Taco, since CO seemed to be the furthest state east that has them!










We originally were going to try to make it from CO to CA in one day, but they told us it takes them about 18 hours! We were barely doing half that everyday, but we drove as far as we could before tuckering out in Cedar City Utah. It was so windy and loud, but the room at the Holiday Inn was a nice discount for military. We ate Panda Express Chinese, fed/washed Lucas and went to sleep.





But we enjoyed CO so much, we are stopping by again on the way back--and then going back down on route 40 so John can have his 32 oz steak at The Big Texan Steakhouse in Amarillo! Day 5, the big day in CA, to come soon!

Day 2-Sunday in MO

The next day, Sunday the 27th, we drove from Kentucky to Kansas City Missouri. We stayed just outside KC in a city called Independence. It was warm and windy in the day and then cold in the morning. Very nice area and courteous hotel staff! We are now "Premium Club Members" for the Holiday Inn lol. We ate at the famous (travel channel) barbecue chain called "Arthur Bryants" which was delicious and huge! Bought a t-shirt and a "sweet heat" barbecue sauce for John's dad.
Here is the pool in Kentucky--not heated, but Lucas still loved it! He loves splashing and trying to swim away from Johnny.





And we were off to Kansas City!

Here we drove through Kentucky, a little bit of Indiana/Illinois, and then to Missouri. We made a couple rest stops but everyone was comfortable in the car and Lucas was an angel! We drove by the arch in St. Louis, and then to the first Jack in the Box in our path.

Here is the next pool--not heated again. The jacuzzi wasn't hot, just warm so lucas loved it.

SURPRISE!!!

For the past few months, John and I have been planning a big road trip to surprise family and friends along the way, and in California. John's mom reads this blog so I couldn't talk about it---it was SO hard not to! It was the incentive to buy the decked out family car and new camera. Well, they both served their purpose, and the memory card is full! I am at John's family's house in Palmdale uploading the pictures and video from the past 5 days for you all!

Warning- this blog will contain lots of pictures, including ones taken while driving...sorry if they are boring, but it was a fun first half of the trip and I want you guys to see at least a little of each state!
Here we are preparing for the trip at 6am--Lucas was ready to go!





Well, we set out on Saturday September 26th, and drove through Virginia, and West Virginia, to finally stop the first night in Lexington, Kentucky. That first day was cold and rainy, and West Virginia was full of fog. We also saw a dead bear on the side of the road--scary! We stopped with a poopy Lucas at a Mcdonald's in the rain, but they didn't have a changing table, so we took him to a Kmart.

We had dinner at a Big Boy restaurant called "Frisch's Big Boy"- was very cheap and tasty!





Here is the hotel-very nice and comfortable. Lucas slept through the whole night in his travel crib! Not such a nice view, but it was a cheap room we reserved in advance, luckily since they ended up turning people away.








And that was the first night---get back on later to see more--goin to see Great Grandma Croce for lunch!

Pretty gross. The parents weren't informed about it either.
Teachers are the most over-paid useless people in the country currently. They barely work, with summers/holidays/weekends free, and they no longer teach anything anymore, aside from their own ideologies. Hopefully we can afford private school for Lucas and Olivia. That goes X 100 for college professors.

I've always hated Dave Matthews Band, Dave Matthews, and the oh-so-loyal "DMB" fans but there are just endless reasons to continue hating. I am so sick of ignorant people who think the only reason one doesn't worship B.O., has to be racism. Are they that ignorant, or is it actually that they are too lazy to learn about his ridiculous and socialist policies to come up with a better argument in their defense?

Answer: Both.

And to add to the barf-fest, John Edwards supposedly promised his knocked-up mistress (while his wife is dying of cancer) a wedding with their favorite band...who? You guessed it, the guys who dump their crap on everyone, either with their "retard having an orgasm" music, or literally if you take boat tours through Chicago (which is full of it anyway).
