Bunch of Stuff

I wanted to quickly blog some goings on and my thoughts on them. I am very sad that Andrew Breitbart has passed away; I first heard about him through Red Eye--he's evidently the one that convinced Fox to give Greg a show. I started watching it about 3 yrs ago when I was up breastpumping at all hours of the night after Lucas' birth. They share that awesome sense of humor--but what made Breitbart special was that he could be hilarious and smart and passionate about his conservative beliefs all at the same time. He was fearless in defending what was right. I didn't even realize how much he has been helping conservative causes and really, just reporting truth. He even helped start the Huffington Post, which is not very conservative..he deserves a lot of credit for revealing all the crap ACORN was up to, and subsequently getting their funding pulled. He was one of my favorite guests on Red Eye, alongside Thaddeus McCotter. He also had 4 young children :( So sad.

What's really disgusting is people's reactions to his death. And it leads me to a sad conclusion that I've come to so many times before. I know that both right and left ideologies have crazy people that say irrational hateful things. But too many times I witness liberal people who define themselves by their political party..over their values, over their religion, and now even over their humanity. When someone dies, it's never something to rejoice over. I might be passionate about my political stances, but  I don't hate people who disagree, to the point that I want them dead. Before they are even human, they are die-hard liberals.

    RIP Andrew :)
Here's some funny clips from last night's Red Eye:

Next, I haven't been watching too much news lately--been totally into making this house our home. But every time I hear about this whole contraception issue and how it's being made into a human rights sob story, it's so frustrating....hearing this clip of this Georgetown law student complaining about birth control pills not being covered by university student insurance plans, and making it sound as if it's on par with real human rights crises like Darfur or something. First of all, everyone is making it out to be that those against Obama's mandate are essentially making birth control illegal....get your heads straight guys! All churches want to do, is not PAY for it. And this gal is up there in all her feminazi glory bitching about how it costs her $3000 a year to have sex without having to worry about having a baby or scheduling one of those pesky planned parenthood appointments. DOES THIS MAKE ANYONE ELSE LAUGH OUT LOUD?! Gives me so much faith in law students to know that they are so worried about their 'reproductive health'---that's a euphemism if I ever heard one...why can't they just say they are horndogs who  don't want kids? It's not about their health...pregnancy doesn't = unhealthy. And they complain that we taxpayers, and insurance companies should pay for their whore-ness...
"Republican war on women's health?!" Yes, because that's what Republicans are doing...making women unhealthy.
Do they even understand what they are saying anymore, or is it totally translated in their small minds to something important and rational?

And instead there is outrage at what Rush Limbaugh said...I agree with him 100%--

“What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic] who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex — what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute.” — Rush Limbaugh

And lastly, on a better note lol. My mom has some extended family in Missouri--a cousin who she recently found again through facebook. Well she has a son that is in a band called "White Rabbits". I hadn't heard of them til my mom told me last night they were on Letterman! From the few videos I watched I think they sound pretty good. So what is my mom's cousin's son to me ?! idk. Well, his name is Alex Even.  Listen to some of their stuff:
"Kid on my shoulders"

How appropriate-its called "navy wives" lol

"Heavy Metal"
And last night on letterman "Temporary"
I don't know which one is Alex, but I think it's one of the guitar players.
Cool huh?

hey, thanks for this one. I feel the same way. I too, laughed out loud when she said it costs her 3,000 a year for birth control and that we should be paying for it. makes me so sick.
still sad about andrew breitbart. he was up to a lot of stuff that we don't get to see now. i do wonder if he was killed. i also wonder (hope) its a hoax. he is such a brilliant man, who you really wanted to meet and be friends with.

yup i dont get it--her fav hangout (PP) gives it away freaking cheap (and possibly soon, free) so they really just wanted to piss conservatives off by forcing privately owned religical (Shawna coined that awesome term!) schools to pay for it. pretty soon there will be government grants specifically for "RePROdUCkTEEV HayLTH!"

oh and I know its tempting to think maybe its a hoax...and possibly murder, but from what his friends and family say, it seems he wasn't taking care of himself and had a heart issue. Sounds like he was way too busy and never slept.
