Lucas--Christmas Performance...

Today in Lucas' pre-K faith formation class, they performed a Nativity scene after mass. I was excited to see how he would behave, since he's the youngest in the class. I thought maybe he would understand the concept since we have been reading this book all week:

A Baby Born in Bethlehem

It was a little longer than most books we read, but they really like it! It's so cute to hear them say "baby Jesus!" when I get to that part. Oh and a new thing that Lucas started doing--during storytime before bed, he will interrupt me saying "mommy? mommy?" and RAISING his hand! it's SO adorable and hilarious. Then he just says jibberish stuff about Santa or Christmas lights etc. I wonder if he learned the raising your hand thing from his class at church!

They are so sweet to him and I really think being with the older kids helps him learn things quicker. Janice is also so sweet, they love seeing her and run to hug her everytime. She gave them plastic mini snow globes with a nativity scene in it--they really like them:

And she gave me the nursery volunteers (I do Saturday evening masses) these cute bags with a Mother Theresa quote:

I love it--the kids on it are really cute.

Anyway, the performance went as well as could be expected I suppose...Lucas was the worst kid. He didn't want to stand there and be a shepherd..he wanted to come to me..but I had to hold Olivia who got a little whiney too. Lucas wouldn't sit in another girl's lap, and then started throwing the plush sheep around lol. He wouldn't even pose with the other kids for a picture. I wish John had been there to at least help with Olivia. But he's working nights so he was asleep.

It was still cute to see him dressed up and with the other kids. They are so into Christmas right now, but of course mainly getting presents. Can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning !

I was giggling so much because I know Eddie would have been right there with Lucas doing the same things. Worse even. This was super cute. Thank you for sharing :)
You are such a cool mom for getting them involved in Christmas stuff. I have about 2 more ideas for Christmas stuff and I think I am out. I tried making and decorating muffins, but Eddie was not interested at all. I did buy a count down thingy :) I should do a blog about it. Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun this year. :D

haha...i cant help but laugh at about 00:28 he didnt want to be held so he says "off of me! off of me!" I didn't really know what to do...I apologized after but the teacher said "oh no, we always have dissention from the shepherds" lol. yeah do more christmas blogs!
I am sort of pushing my kids into an early Christmas obsession lol...I want them to get as excited as a 6 yr old lol. Even shopping for them I found myself wanting to buy them big kid toys...I even got Olivia toy high heel shoes--but I told John I KNOW she will already like those....she likes mine---and mine are amazonian!
Thanks Iris :)

This was so cute to watch. I love how Olivia repeats Mary and baby Jesus, so sweet. Your little shepherd boy reminds me of my little guy. Well now he's a (according to him)"medium" size boy.
I bought Sophie toy high heels at Olivia's age for Christmas too. She's always had a shoe obsession, more boots than anything. One time she put my heels on and says "Now I'm a Mommy." Sometimes she'll still try to sneak out wearing her toy heels.
