I was up waiting for John to get home at 4am this morning, (he got off a little early) and I saw some new infomercials that really caught my eye. There is a program called 'Your Baby Can Read,' and I can't wait to try it. I already planned on trying to teach Lucas everything I can early, especially since around age 2 they learn so quickly (due to thousands of new synapses forming in their brain so the infomercial says) but I know I can teach him these techniques and hopefully more. To all of you who read my blog with babies and toddlers- (pretty much all of you) - you should invest in this! check out the videos:

Whether it's memorization of the words/sounds or phonetically sounding it out, it seems to really stimulate their urge to learn and communicate at a very young and frustrating age.

I was at my parents the other day when I saw this on TV. It is pretty amazing. Kids do learn a lot at such a young age. I'm always shocked on the new things Ethan and Sophia pick up. You'll have to tell me how this program works for Lucas.

I have a feeling that it's something that you can teach your children at home if you dedicate yourself. But I could be wrong. I am not a parent so not sure. :)
But if this does work, I will of course be interested!

yeah, i know it may be accomplished if you work hard on your own, which i probably will do first, but it seems like the combination of cards, pictures, and DVDs are what really gets them learning and memoriizing. we'll see!

I did think Iris was complimenting John in his licorice red and black speedo;) Nice speedo John, that's great you have a lot of confidence to wear one. Very European. Samantha you should take a picture of your belly. So we can see your progression. I'm sure you look adorable pregnant.
If the program does work I know I'll want to do it. I just hope it's not too time consuming. Having more then one child would make it a little difficult I'm sure. My kids don't sit still for very long as well so I'd have trouble with that as well. They are the exploring, hands on type. If it was done before bedtime when we read to them I'm sure it could work.
ha! brianne- i will tell john what you said* (i told him i put it up and he said "ah! thats not funny!") i like it though so i am leaving it for a bit lol. It was taken back ~2003 in south carolina, before we got married. He was skinny then lol...we both were!
